Robert Downey Jr. Can Fly...Robert Downey Jr. Can Touch the Sky

There's another new Iron Man clip, and yes, it still looks awesome, and Robert Downey Jr. is still terrific. So what I'm most excited about in this clip is hearing proof that Jarvis—Tony Stark's butler and later butler to the Avengers—is indeed in the movie. And yes, I'm kind of mortified that that's what excited me most.

In related news, regular and handsome TR reader Joshua Glenn sent me this link to his exhaustively researched article on the weird history between Iron Man the character and "Iron Man" the Black Sabbath song. Check it out!

Thanks for the compliments! I am a regular reader; also handsome, it's true. Alas, the Iron Man post on Brainiac only seems exhaustively researched. I wish I'd cracked just one book about Black Sabbath, then I'd really feel proud. Also, at the last minute I couldn't locate my copy of Ted Hughes's "Iron Man" so I had to write that part from memory. Still, I do think I've cracked this lobrow literary mystery WIDE OPEN.

Jarvis is in the movie, however he's a robot. It's true, I saw it in an interview with Favs himself. You can even see one of his appendages in the sequence where the Mark II armor crashes down on Stark's Shelby Cobra. The little fire extinguisher blast is courtesy of Jarvis.

I was gonna say, it sounded like Jarvis was a computer or something. It's probably J.A.R.V.I.S.

Holy crap that still looks good. I've had my doubts about Iron Man but every trailer gets better and better. As for Jarvis being a robot, I'll save my screaming for the movie.
