Chrono Trigger DS Looks Exactly Like Chrono Trigger SNES

Yes, if any of you were hoping for new bells and whistles as part of the Nintendo DS version of Square Enix's classic RPG Chrono Trigger...uh...too bad. But I'm guessing most of you just wanted to play the game again, and it look like that's what you'll get, from Akira Toriyama's ridiculous character designs (it's a good day for Toriyama fans, huh?) to Kero's unbelievably awesome drop-a-huge-fucking-frog-on-my-enemies spell. Oh, and assumably you still have the ability to beat the boss in the first 10 minutes (with the help of a previous saved game). Nice to have you back, Chrono.

Hm...would have been nice if they'd thrown *something* new in there...
Posted 07/08/2008 at 01:03:33 PMLooks like Square's going the Nintendo route: Release their old games as many times as they can until the public's finally reached their limit of stupidity.
I don't buy any of the Nintendo re-tread BS, and I'm not buying this either.
Posted 07/08/2008 at 02:08:08 PMYeah, maybe they'll do something awesome like re-releasing the old game *with* a shiny new one. I mean, the whole game can probably fit over a hundred times on the new carts, so why not?
I can't believe that Square would just re-release the same game. I would like to see it, for sure, but I just cannot believe it.
Now, give us FF Tactics on the DS... or Wii... or SOMETHING!
Posted 07/09/2008 at 06:57:24 AMI think the Wii may just possibly be the single worst console ever for an SRPG, and Nintendo doesn't care. (Not casual enough. Not for their business model.)
Flip the remote sideways so the D-pad makes sense, and then you have no shoulder buttons to rotate the map. It'd basically force you to buy a classic controller.
No thank you. I'm enjoying my new version of Tactics on the PSP just fine. (except for the new translation that's just messed up in a different way.)
