SDCC: Mezco Fails Best Chance to Give Public Much Needed Scarlet Johansson Toys with Its Spirit Movie Figures

Looks like Mezco Toyz revealed the first wave of their figures from Frank Miller's The Spirit movie, and see if you can figure out what's missing from this line-up:
• The Spirit with trench coat
• The Spirit without coat
• The Octopus
• Eva Mendes as Sand Serif
• Jaime King as Lorelei
• Some fat guy
Well? Figured it out yet? Here, let me give you a hint:
Yes, Mezco has chosen, by all indication of their own free will, to make a big fat guy action figure over one of SCARLET FREAKING JOHANSSON. Goddammit.

Clearly, someone at Mezco is into bears. That's the only reason why the fat dude gets a figure and Scarlett doesn't.

Posted 07/24/2008 at 01:09:59 PMIt's sad, because I usually love Mezco's ideas. But that seems like a bad call. Unless there's some kind of likeness rights issue, or she didn't approve her figure or something. That's how Lucy Liu got cut from NECA's Kill Bill toy line. Another shame.
