A time when both playsets and carrying cases ruled the land. Well, Diamond Select—who have been re-making the old Mego Star Trek figures, along with some new ones—have boldly gone one step further by announcing they'll be re-releasing the old Enterprise Bridge playset as well. This classic nerd-toy includes a slick Transporter and captain's chair, but Diamond has added an interchangeable viewscreen (for seeing oppressive masculine aliens and sexy feminine aliens, natch) and decals. Best of all, it folds up into a swell carrying case, so it can easily be put away when someone you want to respect you comes over, like a family member or a woman. The retro set will be released in spring of '09, and cost $60.

Holy Crap-asaurus Rex I used to have one of those. The crew I had consisted of Sulu, Captain Marvel(Shazam), Robin the boy wonder and the Six Million Dollar man.

I totally had one of those... Christmas 1974? 75? It was rad.

Looks totally cheap now compared to the TARDIS playset I currently have sitting on my desk at work... I am still 4 years old in some ways.

Wow, I had one of those. I completely forgot about it for the past 30 years until now.

Um, yeah, I still have mine. Unfortunately, my mom was a first grade teacher, and I let her take it to school and let generations of grubby-pawed bastards...I mean, angelic children...beat the hell out of it.

Spock and the captain's chair, however, held up nicely. Not sure how.

I was born in '77, so I missed out on Mego. But I've acquired a bunch since then, including the Spider-Car. DST is the greatest company ever for doing this, and so is Dr. Mego.

I was also born in '77 and missed Mego, but thanks to Diamond I was finally able to acquire that Captain Kirk I had wanted since first seeing his exploits in the pages of a certain magazine.

OMG, I got one these are my neighbor's garage sale when I was 8. I completely forgot about it until now. I loved how the transporter beam worked.
