• @kinginyellow The Day the Earth Stood Still wasn't really intended to be an action movie. That's probably why they hated it. The original was more about how the human race would respond to the knowledge that aliens exist, and how the aliens would see us. The new movie looks more action-oriented than hard Sci-Fi. Incidentally, when I saw Keanu Reeves hooked up to the lie detector test in the preview, all that was going through my mind was "ask him if he knows kung-fu."

• Hey- sort of off the subject, but the other day I was screening the Punisher movie, and another critic told me he had a friend who had just seen a trade of The Day the Earth Stood Still- and everybody hated it! Still, it's just a Trade copy, but that does not bode well, me thinks.

• I love Metalocalypse. Definitely one of my favorite shows. I couldn't understand them at first, but you get used to it fast. Wanted was good as could be expected from a supervillain movie without supervillains. ...and X-Files 2 sucked hard.

• Metalocalypse is easily one of the best things Adult Swim has going for it--I often watch it subtitled by default because my wife is sleeping next to me, which helps me understand it, but you do then miss out on the pitch-perfect death metal parodies. That and The Venture Brothers are the reason I keep watching.

• Yeah, I want none of this. Some good stuff came out in the animu department.

• I sort of liked Prince Caspian. They should really do 3 movies. After, Voyage of the Dawn Treader...the books get really religious.

• you forgot stepbrothers, which is one of the funniest movies of the year.
