I Apologize, But You Have to Watch the "BoHe-Man Rhapsody" at Least Once
Posted at 4:11 PM Dec 01, 2008
And I really do apologize, because this video is going to leave you changed inside--not in a good way, either. If you've already seen "BoHeMan Rhapsody," I suggest you quickly hit another link and just try to ignore TR until tomorrow. For the rest of you, you must by nerd law hit play, and let the madness begin.
Yes, it is terrible. Poorly animated, with huge, visible Photoshop blur effects, and the lip-synching is synched to something else entirely, like a turn signal. The music gets cut off at one point. The guy actually draws--incredibly poorly--a Prince Adam vest on He-Man instead of using a picture of Prince Adam at one point. And like "Bohemian Rhasody" itself, it goes on way too fucking long.
And yet, it is somehow so terrible, so awful that it becomes kind of awesome again, then keeps going back into terrible, then awesome one more time, and then ends up in some weird netherworld where most He-Man fan videos go to die, and you don't know whether to laugh or cry. I suggest both. And much thanks to Sean for the tip.
Oh, don't forget there's a Heroes' Live-blog at 8:50 pm. Be there or be needlessly stuck with a mind of a 10-year-old, unable to contribute to the plot except by hurling corn at people.

Seems like youtube pulled a "mercy kill" and removed the video...
Posted 12/01/2008 at 01:48:24 PMSomehow this video gave Mer-Man a depth I never thought possible given his soulful piano and guitar work...
Posted 12/01/2008 at 02:09:11 PMWeird, when I press the vid I get; "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" but I found it when I searched for it on the tube

I think the lip-synch is rather nice though ;P
Posted 12/01/2008 at 02:24:14 PMWell, it's official; He-man is now featured in both the single best and single worst viral videos ever. That was just mindblowingly horrible.
Posted 12/01/2008 at 02:29:15 PMIt was a funny concept, but executed in the most terrible way possible. If someone were to actually put effort into making it, it might have been better. Clearly "Emmeline" doesn't realize that you have to do more than just photoshop a bunch of still photos to make a good video. I'm reading WAY too much into this.
Posted 12/01/2008 at 02:43:03 PMFriginator; Check the link in my previous post, it's what happens when someone does it with an effort ;)
It was actually enjoyable.
Posted 12/01/2008 at 02:49:40 PMYeah. That's a lot better.
Posted 12/01/2008 at 03:21:19 PMSometimes I hate how available technology is for people to make horrible animations. The photoshoppery was atrocious and the lipsync wasn't even close. The animator in me just vomited all over my brain. What a mess.
Posted 12/01/2008 at 03:26:59 PMI thought it was awesome in a Plan Nine from Outer Space kind of way.
Posted 12/01/2008 at 03:41:38 PMLove the headbanging at 3:39.
It makes me wonder though- how much weed does one have to smoke to execute such a feat of this, um, magnitude?
Posted 12/01/2008 at 10:27:18 PMMer-Man is now my favorite Master of the Universe. Piano and guitar all in one. That was definitely the awesome in the video.
Posted 12/01/2008 at 11:49:39 PMWow this song is too long. Still I have to laugh anytime anything with Skeletor is involved.
Posted 12/02/2008 at 01:08:36 AM"Fabulous Secret Powers" is still my favorite
Posted 12/02/2008 at 01:28:55 AMWow, considering that i spend my day at work doing nothing but looking around the net for something to entertain myself i can honestly say this video has ruined the internet for me. See you tomorrow topless robot, maybe.
Posted 12/02/2008 at 04:07:29 AMso freaking awful.
Posted 12/03/2008 at 10:38:58 PMIf you think about it, He-Man and Freddy Mercury *ahem* have a lot in common...
