The Best Part of Waking Up Is Dread Nyarlethotep Devouring Your Soul

Oh wait. That's not the best part at all. Still, SOTA Toys has made this 12-inch statue of one of H.P. Lovecraft's Great Old Ones, due this spring, as part of their Nightmares of Lovecraft line. Not to quibble, but I'm pretty sure Lovecraft's regular dreams were of ancient, hideous gods that wanted nothing more than to spread pain and despair throughout the universe and all dimensions. I think his nightmares probably involved Strawberry Shortcake and the Smurfs having a sharing party. (Via Action-Figure)

I don't know. It's twelve inches tall and cast out of resin. The statue seems to lose a bit of je ne sais quoi when it's not a twenty-foot tall Pharaoh Statue chipped out of obsidian and caked with blood.
I'm just not getting the vibes one should be getting from an unholy graven totem.
Posted 01/12/2009 at 08:33:18 AMI can get away with a lot with my decidely-non-geeky wife and work friends. But if I displayed this, really, anywhere, I think people would start giving me a wide berth and leaving me out of birth announcement emails and things.

From what I read there is a regular version and a "Putrid" version. Not sure which is which, but either way looks awesome.
