Remember? Terminator: Salvation? Look, I know you guys have Star Trek on the brain today, but try to remember there will likely be another awesome movie coming out in two weeks, and there's a new, 4-minute trailer for it which should do nothing to dampen your enthusiasm for it. It includes, as far as I can recall, the first footage of Star Trek's Anton Yelchin (Chekhov) as the young John Connor-babydaddy Kyle Reese, so there is a Trek connection if your insane fandom requires you to do and see nothing but Trek-related media all day. I didn't know Anton Yelchin was in it and was awesomely surprised to find Michael Ironside in there as well.
I saw Star Trek last night so now I'm all about some Terminator.

Just when I think this movie can't seem any more pumped there is a Michael Ironsides sighting!

I'm still stunned that there's people who still refer to it by its actual title, rather than Batman vs. The Terminator.
But this can't possibly stink. The very fact that they're throwing that much out there in a trailer (FOUR MINUTES!) means there's a lot more in the movie itself.

i like how they say their future was not what was predicted; makes it feel less like a prequel, puts the tension back in it. there's some nice (well, not so nice) imagery there, very detailed.
it might be interesting if John Conner found out he was one of them. others tell me that would be a cop out, but i don't see why.

Haven't seen Trek in IMAX yet, so once my need is satiated by a nice IMAX viewing next week, I'll be sure to focus all of my nerd attention on the epic visual sex that will be Terminator.

I'm hoping Terminator Salvation is good, but I'm skeptical. We've seen what the future looks like in T2. This looks nothing like what we've seen previously.
Plus I'm not sure McG is up to the task.
This only reason I'll see it is because I like Christian Bale.

What part of "this is not the future my mother described to me" did you miss? The timeline's been changed by the actions of John and Sarah (... and Arnie...) in the past.

I would say the comment about it not being the future his mother told him about still means nothing to the suspense of this overall story. Since the last film established that the future events that lead to all the time traveling can't be changed, only delayed, then SkyNet must always be defeated in the end. Otherwise it wouldn't need to send back terminators to try to kill Sarah, John, or any of his friends at the last minute.
I've heard Arnold will have a cameo. I'm wondering if he'll be someone taken prisoner by SkyNet for the bio material stealing or if they'll reveal those rows upon rows of Arnold T-800s that are referenced in one of the novelizations.
My love for the Terminator films declines with each new convoluted release, but maybe this one is good enough to sharply spike the graph up at the end. I'd like it if it'd conclude with the triumph of the resistance the way Reese described it, and have the final scene be the T-800 and Reese going back to the past. So you could watch the entire series as an infinite loop.
