I've told you guys that I'm excited about the upcoming V remake, and I believe I've told you the pants-wetting reason why. But now I'm extra excited, because now I know that Morena Baccarin -- better known as Firefly's courtesan Inara -- will be starring at the aliens' leader, and furthermore, Alan Tudyk -- better known as Firefly's lovable pilot Wash and the slightly less lovable Alpha on Dollhouse -- will also be starring! How did I not know this? Between them and Lost's Elizabeth Mitchell, this is a nerd's dream cast -- and the fact that it's about alien lizards makes it even better. Check out another clip over at io9.

Love Morena, but wish they had let her keep her long hair (just like the chick in the old V had). Would be more fun to see them try to use her outright sex appeal as another form of control.
I mean, she is still sexy, but long haired Morena > short haired Morena.
Pretty excited for this series. V is what I was hoping to see back when the show Invasion started, but then Invasion just stuck in the swamps and had no direction, no resistance fight etc.
V for Victory!!

Well, that pretty much guarantees the show isn't going to make it to a second season, heh. :p

The big giant head floating in the sky kind of throws off the message of peace and harmony. Great stuff!

Hate to get all political, but this clip reminds me of the so-called positive "change" we were promised. And now out tax dollars are not only going towards domestic abortion funding, but funding for abortions in other countries.

@Cornelius: This isn't the place for political debate, but even if it was, that *is* change (and a positive one, at that, from the perspective of the majority of those that voted for the new administration).
That out of the way, my favorite comment on the new V is from Jewel Staite's Twitter: "V got picked up!! Congrats Morena, we knew that long alien-like neck of yours would come in handy someday! well deserved..."

Yes, the subversive alien invasion and dominance of the human race portrayed in V is just like when President Obama was elected, and you don't sound stupid for suggesting.

Mmmm... Elizabeth Mitchell. I'm there. Yeah, Morena looks better with longer hair. Art design on ships don't look too inspiring, but I hold judgement once I see better views. Can't wait to see how they do this version.

To be fair Obama does sort of resemble a vulvan and I don't trust those green blooded hobgoblins any farther than I can throw them.

Wouldn't a Vulcan be a logical choice to be president?
Sorry it was wide open for that one.
And the show looks great, has to be better then invasion and may be excited about the show, but if my wife gets excited then thats bad news any show she likes gets the can

I know you meant Vulcan but the thought of a race of logical green blooded vagina aliens makes me giggle.

Yeah, tax payer-funded infanticide; things are looking up!
Seriously, the idea that the above is "positive" to a majority of voters is more than a little improbable, unless you Yanks actually like being increasingly burdened with yet more taxes for frivolous goverenment services

If they can get Robert "Freddy Kruger" Enguld (who was a good alien in the original, as well as Michael "Sam Fisher" Ironside (was a resistance leader) in the new cast, I'll TIVO the bitch!

I loved V. I'm very excited about the possibilities of this new V. I think the cast is promising and the writers have shown some level of competence. I'm crossing my fingers for some good mouse eating TV.
Morena can be evil and Elizabeth can be moving, but what I want to see is Alan as a Fed. We've seen Adam don the Fed suit and now it's Alan's turn to protect us. Goooo Alan!

Actually "V" was already political, seeing as how the series was originally about fascism. In fact, the whole space invaders concept was added AFTER the fleshed out the whole Nazi angle.
But as for your political angle, you're just reaching for a proxy to vent.

Can't wait. I've always been enamored by the V aliens getting their human faces ripped off to reveal their true lizard faces, and the uncomfortable subtext of interspecies attraction!
I hope this series has a decent run and not an abrupt non-ending like the old one.

I'm saddened to see Morena in this. I was hoping to see her in something playing on Cinemax at 1:30 in the morning.
Sigh.
And District 9 will make the new V squat down and pee like a submissive dog.

let's see if this version holds water. the first series was pretty good. that part at the end was a little cheesy, everyone clapping and all, unless of course they saw Serenity too and know what to expect.

Very cool.
It would be funny if they were in fact peaceful aliens but humanity is like 'No, we remember the TV miniseries V' so the aliens just get up and leave. Funny but not quite as entertaining.
Wow, something on network television worth looking forward to. Maybe that's the change people have been buzzing about. If it is then 'yay Obama!'.
