Yeah... it's far too late to "save" Soul Calibur.

I don't play fight games... never seen the appeal but I think this is awesome. To be all serious for a moment, I think that the guys over a PA are a real inspiration to anyone who wants to do what they love. Gabe and Tycho started from scratch, didn't follow any of the established rules and built a wonderful brand. And, as a bonus, they mostly use their powers for good.

I checked Penny Arcade today and it had a banner that said "Reserve Tekken 6 now and receive a CTS Outfit for Yoshimitsu."

Still, even though it's just an alternate outfit for an established character, it's awesome nonetheless for the reasons mentioned above.

Does anybody feel any way about PennyArcade any way other than "This makes my life worthwhile"?

Soul Caliber sucks. Tekken just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for this.

Ok, three things:

1) Tekken rules.
2) Soul Calibur sucks.
3) This is not a new character, but a costume for Yoshimitsu that you get for pre-ordering.

Does it come with the "Autumn Razor"?

1) Soul Calibur is awsome
2) Tekken sucks and has a charecter named Bob, look him for and see why Tekken sucks.
3) It is very lame for it to just be a skin for a charecter, but then again that gy does use a pretend lightsaber, and had to run off to the Soul Caliber games to be in somthing good

I have no shame whatsoever for saying this. I HATE the Cardboard Tube Waste-of-Space. It's a physical manifestation of the Penny-Arcade guys' egos getting out of control.

Him, Twisp & Catsby, those three strips they ran last week... Bleh.

I'm with PossibleMisnomer. I've never understood the appeal of the Cardboard Tube Samurai. The only reason I stop by is for the quality of Gabes art which as gotten fantastic. I still don't get the punchline of about 50% of their comics, and sometimes they seem to be more experiments than actual stories or jokes. And I always thought that was CTS; An interesting idea that had no point.

But props to them for getting this far. Just two dudes with a website, and they've done pretty well. And while a CTS skin will have the blindly rabid PA fans purchasing a zillion copies, it's not much of a lure for me.

Somebody thinks Soul Calibur is better than Tekken? I smell a button masher.

For the record, I just bought SC4 for cheap and I've been playing the isht out of it.
I was a hc Tekken person for 2 + 3, then i switched to DOA. Haven't bought a Tekken game since Tag Tournament (which was pretty good though IMO).
I guess I'll have to pick up Tekken 6 for the direct comparison.

Oh, and no matter if you like PA or not, I think congratulations are due for Gabe + Tycho.

There's someone else who hates Tekken? I was unaware of such a rare creature.

1) - tekken gives PA coverage in the game.
2) - PA writes a good review and has T6 adverts splashed across the front page.

You'd be surprised at how many gamers would be more inclined to buy the game just cause the PA guys say it'd be a good buy.

The amount of hits they get daily is silly nowadays.

As far as Soul Calibur goes, yoda is hardcore, but playing him can be just as comical as play a guy with Cardboard tubes, dont judge ye of little fighting game.

Oh and as far as fighting games go, its more hardcore to go bare knuckle than to use a magic sword dont you think. OHH and tekken has NEVER had a soulcalibur character in one of its games, but as i recal there was a point in time when Heichi was kinda busy beating the crap outta Nightmare. You didnt want to mention that in your little post did you? That a tekken character was once in Soulcalibur, FOR SHAME!
