I have to run to an early doctor's appointment (what can I say? My nerd blogging lifestyle doesn't exactly lead itself to physical or mental health) so please enjoy this hauntingly beautiful cover of Portal's "Still Alive" by Aya Korem until I get back. Imagine it's me singing in a girlish flasetto, if that helps.

Oh lordy. I enjoyed both this and the missFlag version, and then I had to go and see the one in trickfred's comment. It was like a horrible car accident. I couldn't stop watching it get worse.

Hmm...gotta say, I'm not a fan. It's just a chick with a very nice voice, and completely lacks the character and humour of the Coulton and McLain versions. Definitely not bad, but it doesn't work for me.

The end of Portal was the most memorable video game ending I've played in years and the original song is a big part of that. This cover is fantastic, but I'll take the original any day.
This post just reminded me to fill that gaping hole in my music library with the original Coulton/McClain song and the rest of the Orange Box OST.

Very nice voice, but I've always been of the opinion that the subject matter and goofy lyrics of Still Alive don't lend themselves very well to actual singing. You just have to have the robot voice, or else it doesn't work.

I still sing the song to myself. I've always found the song haunting and sad, but with a twist at the end,and full of spite. And I've always enjoyed the Eric W. Schwartz, tribute to the Amiga.

Okay I'm late to the game and don't really play a whole lot of video games, but if I'm getting this right, this is a cover of a song that's in a game? Of which there are apparently a whole bunch of covers? Right? So what does the original sound like?
