Now here is something that needs a DVD release! I've had a few conversations recently with people that have never even heard of it. Putting out that show is one of the best things MTV ever did. Julie is the first girl I ever saw who made me happy about my belly.

I bought the original Maxx action from the Spawn line just the other night and subsquently gave a lecture of the sheer awesomeness of it to my friend.
-
The only bad thing about the VHS tape is that it's not the complete series. They left out episode 8 where the Maxx fights the half shark guy Mako, so we've never gotten a truly complete release of this series. Such a shame.

HOLY SHIT. A+ quality. You can't find a clear copy of this online anywhere. Thanks so much for the post. Time to relive creepy images from my childhood.
-
My favorite sound clip on my first Mac: "I am the Maxx. *ring* Answer your phone." I so want to find that now that I can make it a ringtone.

@ anea: Yah, gotta agree with you. Between this and Hulu, I'm really starting to despise posts like this on sites. The Maxx is fantastic, this almost made my day. Instead it made it worse. By the way, this is in no way indicative of this site, just the webhost bastards who think Canada is somewhere in Europe.

Oh for fuck's sake. "This video is not available to users in your region." This makes me very, very sad. I fucking LOVE the Maxx cartoon. Where's the Canada love, MTV? Where the fuck is it?
-
The Maxx. I loved the comic and the cartoon. I've got the VHS of it somewhere. Too bad I've got nothing to play it on. Thanks for reminding me of a great character
-
Good call, I fucking love the Maxx. Too bad they didn't do the whole run of the series on the cartoon.
-
I've wished for years that they would release this series on DVD. It was awesome.

I saw most of this back when it aired, and about a year back, finally read the original comic series. I gotta say, I was quite impressed with MTV's Oddities (the cartoon brand it was distributed under) for staying faithful to it. Kinda wish it had gone for more than 12 episodes and covered the entire series. Oh well. Further proof that the real MTV didn't survive into the new millennium

Oooh. I was thinking about The Maxx the other day. Thanks.
