The Ghostbusters trailer re-edited to make Winston Zeddemore the star? Yes, please. This trailer has been paid for by the Committee to Remind You that Ernie Hudson Is Pretty Awesome, Man. (Via I Heart Chaos)

It's funny that this trailer is only 57 seconds long...ironically the length of time Ernie Hudson is actually noticed in this movie. Shouldn't they have just named him "Token" instead of Winston?
-
That little bit of Terminator music around 10-12 seconds in made my day
-
Ernie got screwed in Leviathan, too.
-
Lou, I think, as Peter Jr pointed out, that he may have gotten his own lawyer.
-
Winston rocks. He got better screen time in GB2 except for the courtroom scene, where he suddenly disappeared. Was he on crowd control?
-
I am glad one of Ernie's funniest lines was used: "Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say "YES"!" Would have liked to have seen the jail scene edited in as well: Winston: Hey, wait a minute. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! Hold it! Now, are we actually gonna go before a federal judge, and tell him that some moldy Babylonian god is going to drop in on Central Park West, and start tearing up the city? Egon: Sumerian, not Babylonian. Peter: Yeah. Big difference. Winston: No offense, guys, but I've gotta get my own lawyer.

it occured to me after seeing this that he was the jules (of pulp fiction) of his time...he has some great lines in the movie, which still holds up today.. i know their making a sequal, and thats all fine and good...but if they ever reboot from the first movie, IM BURNING HOLLYWOOD TO THE GROUND!!!

Cheers! Congo, The Crow....I loves me some Hudson.
-
Oh hey! Created by famous nerd Chris Hardwick. That dude rules! As does Ernie Hudson!

Ernie Hudson always got the shaft when it came to the Ghostbusters franchise. What screwed him was the fact that the cast was three comic giants. He still was awesome but he just wasn't as big as everyone else. The beginning of GB II was awesome with him and akroyd doing the birthday party.
-
Apparently, Bill Murray's condition for appearing in the upcoing Ghostbusters III was that Ernie Hudson be given as big a role as the rest of the original Ghostbusters.
-
I haven't gotten the game yet, but I plan on it. Something bother's me about the commercials/trailers. Does anyone else think that Winston looks wrong? He looks way too skinny, and I don't think his head is shaped right.
-
You know if Eddie Murphy had ended up being in that flick, that might have been the actual trailer. "Winston Zeddemore was written with Eddie Murphy in mind, but he had to decline the role as he was filming Beverly Hills Cop at the same time. If Murphy had been cast, Zeddemore would have been hired much earlier in the film, and would have accompanied the trio on their hunt for Slimer at the hotel and be slimed in place of Peter Venkman. When Ernie Hudson took over, it was decided that he be brought in later to indicate how the Ghostbusters were struggling to keep up with the outbreak of ghosts."

One of the best 57 second periods of my life. That was really cool. I was watching GB II the other night on AMC and the part where the ghost train goes through Winston with him frozen and screaming cracks me up every time.
-
Sadly, i think that trailer uses just about every line of his dialogue from the first movie. He was severely under appreciated.

I'm with Joe! It's about time Hudson got some respect from Ghostbusters! Let's face it, Ernie Hudson really is pretty awesome. I got the game for PC. Love it! It's like living out a childhood dream! I only wish you could edit how the character looks and that the PC had online capabilities. Otherwise great game.

I realized yesterday that Ghostbusters: The Video Game had been released for the PS2 and promptly picked it up, only to discover that the game freezes constantly. I couldn't even get past the first level without it repeatedly freezing and making me start over. I thought that maybe I just had a bad copy, but went online and found out that many people are having the same problem with the PS2 version. So far, the only comment from one of the makers of the game is denying there's anything wrong with it. This blows, because it's otherwise a great game, even on the PS2. People who bought the game should be able to get a functional replacement.
-
Im gad someone did this as Ernie Hudson is often overlooked when it comes to Ghostbusters.
-
All the NES games would still have made him white and blame it on their "limited" color palette. The Genesis version? Eh...they'd publicly say they were racists...and give him a gun.
