@wade vs the world: this movie is based in the ultimate universe essentially and that means sam jackson is nick fury. we'll see if combining CD and Whiplash will pay off, but Favreau earned some trust with the first movie imo. Sam Rockwell is genius and i'm super excited for this film. it should be great, hopefully making all the crap movies this year that much more forgettable.

I hate Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury. Every time I see him with that eye patch it pisses me off. We've seen some bad casting, but this seriously tops the list.

From the looks of it, he's an obsessed inventor who builds his own version of the ARC reactor to power the whips, which I assume will later power the Dynamo armor. No hints of the Mandarin, which is good. Gotta save that for the payoff in the third movie. Iron Man's villain depth looks like a shallow pool compared to most heroes.

The perfect recipe for a disaster sequel...Too many new characters, too many named stars (actors), not enuff time for all of them to be developed properly (Verses the time you need to develop the actual plot)...Part 1 was great because of it's quaintness, part 2 looks like ECW with witty banter...Visually I'm sure it will be quite impressive, but I hope the urge to put every "flavor of the week" actor in the movie doesn't hurt the integrity movie 1 established...

The specifics will never be known to us, but there were contract/money disputes between Marvel and Howard, hence his being replaced.
