Yeah, I know. It's obviously pandering. The girls' line readings are terrible. But if a swimwear company comes up with the brilliant idea of having models deliver quotes from Star Wars while wearing their swimsuits, I feel I have to reward their ingenuity by posting the video. It's that simple. Although the girls should really have spoken Greedo's line in the original alien dialect as opposed to the subtitles.

Its sad that I knew exactly when they screwed up. And I was translating Greedo's lines back into Huttese.
+1 Nerd.

Sadly, you could have cut some of those readings into the prequels and be hard pressed to notice much of a difference.

I don't want to be a party pooper, but stuff like this just reiterates the sad truth that everyone realized geekiness is in and now it's time to milk it for all it's worth.
Iknow that initially might seem like a good thing but it only means we're gonna get more dumb clods like Michael Bay, who wouldn't normally give a shit about this stuff, clomping all over it and turning it into crap he likes because it makes money.

Only two good things that I can say about this vid...
One: Han shot first.
Two: These girls would've played a better Duke than Channing Tatum.
Here's hoping for a version of Star Trek... KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!

You're right. This is why I lament the transformation of SDCC from a comic convention where only performers wear costumes, to a freak-show where people show up JUST to show off their 0freak cosplay hobby and be attention whores.
The MSM covered SDCC, and you know what they focused on? (In fact, it's ALL they talked about.) The cosplayers. Not the comics. Not the trade. Not the industry. Not the upcoming films and events. Not the merchandise... Nope, the whole focus was on the "geeks" in their costumes.
Geek culture is endangered as it slowly becomes accepted hipster culture; They'll kill it just like they killed goth, punk, Ren Faires, and everything else they touch.

Joe I agree with everything you said. Suddenly it's "trendy" and "hot" to be a nerd. I guess this means most of us were trendy our whole lives and just didn't realize it?
Also they should be equal opportunity exploitists and have the same vid but with cute guys in their underwear for all the geek-girls and geek-gay-guys out there.

I thought it was really interesting, right up until the part where the girl said "Even I get boarded sometimes." Then I thought it was REALLY REALLY interesting. Then the rest of it wasn't that interesting.

It's only cool to be a geek if you're actually a trendy, good-looking person. Actual geeks are still social pariahs. Look at how many celebrities, while doing interviews for their big geek movies and such, talk about how much they were geeks as kids or the like. I cry foul. This is why celebrity-written comic books, casual gaming, and hipsters in cartoon shirts bother me. They reap the benefits of our hobbies, while we still suffer the shame.

As a straight male I watched straight through.
As an actor and a nerd, I had to turn the sound off to do so. The line readings were just too horrible to listen to and the eye-candy definitely does not balance it out. No girl is hot enough to make listening to that worth it.
With the sound off, however, it was a nice vid.
