• Isn't it kind of, well, wrong, to call your self a Guitar Hero loyalist when the first two Guitar Hero games were made by the developers of Rock Band? Or are you just loyal to the catchier brand name?

• As much as I love the Man in Black, I refuse to ever pick up another Guitar Hero game or anything else tainted by Activision after they tried to destroy the wonderful Ghostbusters game and repeatedly tried to destroy Tim Schafer's 'Brutal Legend' and I can never forgive them for this, especially after Double Fine Studios has stated Activision canceled the project and has continued to try and stop it's release because Activision fears competition with their precious Guitar Hero franchise. I've had to wait nearly two years for this game to not get fucked over and get released. GH can have their pseudo-Cash, I'll be looking forward to a game with Jack Black, Dio, and Rob Halford voicing awesome characters.

• This will now officially be the first Guitar Hero game I purchase.

• Guitar Hero 5 will also let you play with any combination of instruments you want, with specific achievements/trophies related to them, like "drumline" and "all four bass"

• Rock Band is better in every concievable way in my eyes, but the presence of Cash in GH5 has been bugging the shit out of me for a while now. As if it wasn't bad enough that GH got Hendrix, they're getting Cash too!! Thank God pretty much all of my other favorite musicians who have any presence in music games are in Rock Band. Since there are only about a dozen songs in the craptacular GH5 track list I really like, I'll be waiting for a big price drop before I buy this. (Conversely, I've had The Beatles: Rock Band and the Gretsch Duo-Jet guitar on preorder for months now.)

• As stated above, I have no allegience to either Guitar Hero or Rock Band. But based on the ad banner I saw a monute ago on this very site, RB has a Jonas Brothers edition. GH wins by default.

• I don't really know That much about 'the man in black', other than from that biopic and some song-searching around that time, but would this be the kind of thing he would approve of? Like I said, I don't really know Much, but I guess I got the impression that he would think something like this (use of his image in a video game) as a bit crass. Or maybe he'd approve of whatever gets the youngins into music/music performance? I don't know- thoughts?

• I'm more a Rock Band guy, but this is pretty damn nifty. I wonder if it's compatible with the Rock Band peripherals...

• ADDITIONAL nerd fact: i know the guy who plays Cash in this game. his name is Terry Lee Goffee. he's from small-town Ohio and he's been doing a Johnny Cash tribute show for years now. super-nice guy. the Neversoft guys flew him out to LA, put him in a mo-cap suit and recorded him.

• Well that just made my day! Of course being a music geek I'm going to get Beatles Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5 anyway. But adding the man in black to anything improves it. :)

• I've never played either game and likely never will. i just don't have the time or disposition for video game nerdery. My nerdery lies in other directions which I still sadly don't have much time for. I haven't been a gamer since shortly after the Nintendo 64. I recently sold all my old systems as they had been in a box, unplayed, for 10 years. That said. this is about the most awesome thing I've ever seen. Johnny Cash was one of the all time greats in my opinion. I still probably won't play it, but I'd sure as fuck watch some video of someone else doing it well.
