Some mornings your hate is like the sandy filament at the bottom of a styrofoam cup of motel coffee. Even without Batman, Nolan has made some awesome movies. The Prestige was a lot of fun. So before you start hyping up Batman 3 (before inevitably destroying it for failing to live up to The Dark Knight), allow the rest of us to enjoy Mr. Nolan's work.

I'd rather have Batman 3 myself, so I don't understand what everyone is upset about wanting it. Saw this trailer the other day, thought it looked interesting, nothing more.

Am I the only one that thought The Prestige was kind of crap? I really enjoyed Bowie as Tesla, but the twist was incredibly obvious.

The Prestige was pretty good I thought. Probably Nolan's weakest movie, but still pretty good (which is a testament to how amazing he is. Memento anyone?)
Also, Ellen Page is in Inception as well. Yay for Ellen Page!

*waves* I sort of hated The Prestige. Checked my watch about every ten minutes for the second hour. But I loved Memento--more than I liked The Dark Knight (although TDK was an excellent movie too). I don't really care what Nolan makes; the fact is I'll probably end up seeing it.
Now, Inception here looks kind of bad, but that's only because it's a teaser-trailer and I've only seen one teaser in my life that's actually gotten me interested in a film. I mean, wacky gravity is cool but it's not enough to buoy an entire film. I'll wait for more footage to be released before I judge.

I love Nolan's work, Batman or not. Nolan does great work with weird mind/time elements and this seems to fit right in with his other movies. Sure, I'd like to have Batman 3 ASAP, but it's probably good for him to take a short break, do something else, then dive into Batman again. If Oldman wasn't talking out his ass at SDCC, then filming for Batman will start in the spring, so we're sure to get info on the script and casting in the next few months.

And I'd rather have Nolan do this THEN Batman 3, because he's not a fanboy and will actually take the time to make a GOOD movie instead of another sequel just because everybody is whining about it like he goddamn owes them. The man did The Prestige as a break between Batman Begins and TDK, and regardless of your opinion about The Prestige, that time off helped him make The Dark Knight as good as it is. So yeah, good for Inception, since going from one sequel to the next yields Spider-Man 3.

The Prestige was awesome. So was Memento. Nolan + Sci-Fi sounds like a winning combination to me. I can wait indefinitely for Batman 3.

Nolan is doing what every director who thanks to the dark knight box office can do what ever film he wants to do for it looks worth seeing and also lets Nolan have some breathing time before he has to start figureing out how to do batman three for even Nolan needs a break from batman

Man, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something? Nolan took a break between BB and TDK so why wouldn't he take a break between TDK and Batman 3(if he even does one). The Prestige was really good and the trailer got me interested but I want to know more about it as well.

for starters from a different perspective i feel that ppl rly werent griping at nolan to make the dark knight after begins right away anyway bc no one rly thought it was as amazing tdk. the presitge albeit a bit obvious once you noticed it was still an entertaining movie.

i felt that part of tdks success was the hype it had building up to it, i mean look at the numbers from begins to knight and you see a drastic financial change and the main reason is the hype that surrounded it, not saying the movie was terrible though.

this movie looks really well done, dicaprio is an amazing actor and i have to admit i have not seen a single bad nolan film so keep up the good work

I think this looks phenomenal.

Although I would like batman 3, I think that maybe having to wait for it might not be the worst thing ever. A hiatus might give the writers/pre production folks to make it even better.

Also do you think it's somewhere in Levitt's rider that he must wear a dapper suit in every film he is cast in? He has been wearing dapper suits since the filming wrapped on Brick.

I thought the Prestige was amazing. And was a great piece between Begins and Knight. So if this is equal to The Prestige, then if he ever does a Batman 3, it will hopefully be even more awesomer for it.

Specifically, Nolan is making Inception -- a sci-fi/action movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, weird gravity, tops, mind crimes, and buildings that turn into logos. That's a mighty fine cast, but I'd rather have Batman 3, thanks.

Anyway, he ought to do something besides Batman. We can be happy with the Dark Knight for awhile.

Believe me, everyone wants Batman 3, but I think it's cool that Chris is doing something different, but again, if I could, I'd tell him to make Batman 3 first.

I see where you're all coming from on Batman 3, and I want it as soon as possible too, but if he just made Batman films back-to-back, chances are he'll get bored or tired and something will slip.
If he needs to make another soon-to-be-fantastic film in-between to balance it out, I say go for it.

I quite liked The Prestige. It was definitely the better of the two films ('The Illusionist' was out about the same time I believe, and horribly lack-luster) that nobody could tell apart at the time...

Just because Nolan is making this doesn't mean he's stepping out of Batman 3, and if he is, I don't blame him not wanting a large chunk of his career dedicated to one franchise/film series. He has already given us several of the best comic book adaptions ever made, and besides Inception looks like it could be pretty damn good(as far as I can tell from the teaser).

Here's an idea for the Friday contest: exactly what movie will cause WB to say to Nolan "no, that's too out there for us even though we need you to ensure The Dark Knight Returns (or whatever they wind up calling it) makes us another billion dollars."

I'm thinking it'd revolve around monkeys in a musical number before cutting to a black screen for 30 minutes, but it'd probably take a LOT.

Actually I'm glad that Nolan is not making Batman 3 right now because I love the Prestige and I really think that it's better than Memento so I'm really looking forward to Inception.

Nolan is great, love the use of sound.

I've never been a Batman fan. Even though BB and TDK were cool movies, so I'm more than happy for Nolan to take a shot at something else.

And as much criticism that Leo gets dumped on him he is a darn fine actor, especially with other strong actors around him.

Just be thankful mono-tone Christan Bale isn't in this movie to ruin it.

The Dark Knight is one of the finest comic movies every made.

You know what else was a good comic movie? Spider-Man 2.

And you know what Spider-Man 2 was followed up with, right? That's right Spider-Man 3.

And I think I speak for EVERYONE when I say that letting the mightyness of The Dark Knight fall into shitty, third sequel Spider-Man 3 territory for a pointless third act is unforgivable.

Return Of The King followed up two far better LOTR movie with an overblown mess that couldn't even end. The movie had no pacing and kept stuttering off with a hokey, pigshit, ending-that-you-hoped-would-just-end-already.

Return Of The Jedi had those STUPID, STUPID Ewoks fucking up the whole thing.

Back To The Future 3 was a pointless, jump-the-shark rehash set in the boring old west, with no surprises or real excitement and was a tremendous, anti-climactic let down to just about everyone.

Admittedly for as bad as Rush Hour 2 was, Rush Hour 3 just sucked TOTAL monkey nuts.

Halloween 3 wasn't even about Micheal Myers, and instead just some idiotic and stupid tale about magical masks that made kid's faces melt.

So, believe me that when word comes out that Christopher Nolan is not making a third Batman film, it's for your OWN good.

Batman 3 WILL suck. The first two films are great enough on their own. Dark Knight is almost legendary. A Batman 3 would disgrace everything Dark Knight sought to achieve.

Seriously, fanboys. This goes beyond your mere needs and wants. Leave well enough alone.
