Seriously, everybody, take a day or two off from goofy YouTube videos and watch Cosmos here: http://www.hulu.com/cosmos Some of the science is a little dated, but the sense of wonder is not. And I hate the autotune stuff, but Carl Sagan is so incredible I love this anyway just because he's in it.

• Makes me sad to think of his last book "The Demon Haunted World", in which he wrote about his concerns for where the human race is headed and how they almost overwhelms his typical optimism. :-(

• Made me cry. Carl Sagan has done that to me since I was a kid. His unbridled optimism and hope for the victory of reason made him one of history's most beautiful people. His death was an irreparable tragedy.

• Truly, this was a man who wanted to see the future, and lived his life with perfect optomism. He was taken long before his time, and if he would have had his choice, he would have lived forever, if for no other reason than to discover everything in the universe and see it all first hand. I miss him.
