Venerable lingerie maker Agent Provocateur has just announced its newest lingerie collection. I'm not telling you this for my health, of course -- the theme of the "New World Order" line is superheroes, and... man, it is just terrible. I hadn't really thought about it before, but if someone had asked me yesterday if someone could actually screw up a comics-inspired lingerie line, I would have said no. But looking at these "things," complete with titles like Hornette and Magnette, I'm just sad and ashamed and a little angry. If you want the full experience, head over here to catch the preposterous and mind-blowingly awful video explaining the "story" that goes along with these lingerie designs, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Capt. Kirk would like them, but only if the ladies are painted in weird colors.
I don't know what's wrong... I Know that seeing ladies in lingerie is sexy, but this is not doing it for me... It's Superhero Inspired Lingerie for crying outloud!! This is supposed to be a win win for me!?
WHOSE RESPONSIBLE THIS?

Top Secret is the best game evar. It's also where I learned that spraying people with acid will land you in prison.
But because I learned it in a role-playing game, I'm a free man.
Thanks TSR!

But, I am what they call the best of the best. I have my fans and they lvoe me.

I see what the problem is... this is not superhero costumes, it's clearly bra panties and some extra fabric thrown in. It's mearly rebranded underwear.
A superehroine needs an iconic wardrobe and those underoos are not iconic in any way.
if you were to go to www.superheroinecentral.com for pure research purposes you would see that the superhero suit actually covers a lot of skin that eventually gets unwrapped like a present... unlike failwear that is alredy unwrapped for the most part.
Total fail.

I don't get it. The photos are bad, as they are photochopped to hell and look like a really badly done comic cover (I suppose that's appropriate) but the lingerie itself doesn't seem bad at all. I wouldn't really put it down as superhero, but it's certainly sexy. Seriously, what is the problem here?

Wait... does "Hornette" have star shaped pasties? Or is that part of the outfit? If pasties, I retract my "jazz hands" comment in favor of a much more juvenile *boob twirl motion*.

If that stuff isn't doing it for you all, check out the rest of the site. But dang, some of that stuff is pricey. Kylie Minogue sure has some taste on lingerie (She's still a part of Agent Provocateur, isn't she?).
Just to make this post nerd-related, it looks like the kind of place the Emma Frost the White Queen would go to to stock up on white corsets.

Watching the trailer, you get this feeling that someone's comic book creation dreams are spread out before you. And they're totally half-naked.
It's sad, really.

Wow- remember the school folders back in the 90s with, like, tigers on the moon and weird crap like that on them? These look just like those.

It seems like the plot from late 70's science fiction stories, which were just a lame excuse for artists to draw boobs and people having sex.
Chicks: hot, lingerie: elaborate, story: completely unnecessary.

Having just reviewed all the of the collection, I only liked the "Bullet" outfit. Everything else, meh.
I'm a girl btw. If that matters.

So, if someone showed this collection to me without telling me it was supposed to be superhero inspired, I would never get that impression from most of it. A lot of it isn't even that hot with the superhero theme disregarded, anyway.
And seriously, Hornette? Is it that hard to be a little subtle? ...I guess not, when you're selling not-actually-superhero-inspired lingerie.

Normally, I'd be just fine browsing through a few attractive ladies in scant things but they really did do a horrible job with the 'theme'. If I'd just been shown it, I would have thought, "Oh, hey, that's kind of cool." But looking at that with knowledge of what they were trying to do? It just made it a little painful to look at.

I've checked the site and there's absolutely nothing wrong with the collection. Actually I think it's pretty cool and hott. I wish I could own a collection like that(yes, I'm a female). But I guess some people don't like certain tastes or exoticness, huh?

Monster...
Not to sound like a small child but the Agent Provocateur started it by trying to pimp their rags as superhero themed rags. I don't think any of us don't appreciate the boobs but what I don't appreciate is sloppy advertising. If I want my non existant girlfriend to dress like a superhero then she better have a cape and thigh high boots... oh yeaaaaahhhhh.

I don't see how difficult it is to go as wrong as they have with a super heroine theme. Just take Powergirl and show side boob. Or take Rogue's uniform and make it entirely vinyl and completely skin tight. Or Supergirl's tight tee and jean shorts and just make the shirt torn and slightly revealing while also having the jean shorts be open-assed. Anything would have been better than what they did with their "comic" inspired excuses.
