Above is the new trailer for The Wolfman starring Benicio del Toro. Although this trailer is better than the last one, I'm still not sure that I can maintain interest in a movie that only has one wolfman in it. I think I need more, or a vampire or a gill-man, or something, you know? I hate to knock would appears to be a good movie, but it's 2009, man. We're a multiple wolfman society now.
Now, this new clip from Twilight Saga New Moon does technically have multiple werewolves in it, but they're less werewolves than school bus-sized wolves WHOSE PANTS EXPLODE FROM THEIR BODIES WHEN THEY TRANSFORM. This would make me far happier if I hadn't had to hear the excruciating Twilight dialogue and see all those shirtless teenaged boys first.
Last and certainly least is Werewolf, one of the most awesomely bad movies Mystery Science Theater 3000 had the misfortune to watch. Given that none of the leads speak English as a first language and cannot even pronounce the world "werewolf" correctly, I contend that it is the greatest werewolf movie of all time. Thank you and good night.

Why does the phrase "WHOSE PANTS EXPLODE FROM THEIR BODIES WHEN THEY TRANSFORM" when talking about shirtless teenage boys bother me so much?

Is it just me or does the guy in the third clip look like a third rate John Kerry impersonator? The kind you might see on Mad TV.

Well, aren't there technically TWO werewolves, since there was one that bites Talbot (just going by the original 1941 plot they are supposedly adapting). I'm actually jonesing for this remake. Been a LONG while since there was a good werewolf standalone film.
Funny you should say that the New Moon clip would be better without the insipid dialogue. Had a new trailer in front of Zombieland, and two seconds in, ALL audio stops, but the trailer continued. Audience cheered and riffed the HELL out of it (my own: as Bella jumped into the sea - "Oh shit! I forgot I'm not Aquaman!").
And yes, greatest werewolf (or rather, "warwilf") movie of all time is "Werewolf," but ONLY the MST3K version.

The only good part about Bella is Emo (Plus werewolves!) [Better know as "New Moon"] is the werewolves.
Fourth book was actually epic as fuck during the first third, which, by the way, was from the perspective of a werewolf.
The rest of the fourth book was just pointless build up to a lackluster bullshit anti-climax, so it classifies as the worst overall.

The Twilight wolf transformations are kinda wimpy.
I like the really painful one from An American Werewolf in London. Those Twilight guys' transform may burst out of their pants, but aside from being big, they look kinda like wusses. Any neat, trim, body-hairless late teen / early 20's heartthrob looks wimpy. Even in buswolf form.
Swat one on the nose with a newspaper. I bet it'll run away.

OK. Here I go.
The Wolfman - looks great to me and I WILL be seeing this one.
Twilight Saga New Moon - I admit it, guys. My wife rented the movie and I watched it with her. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Certainly wasn't as good to me as some people make it out to be. But the sequel here? I actually liked the looks of it. And if only because I am curious to see what happens in the second movie, I'm sure my wife will rent it and I will watch it. But I did like the idea that the wolves are, well, giant wolves. Different. But I can assure you that I DO NOT glitter!
Mystery Science Theater 3000 - what the hell bad can I even say about these guys? Nothing, that's what! These guys are great at belittling some low-budget flick. Live on MST 3000!
And that's 'bout all I can say 'bout that.

I would actually be disappointed if a movie titled "The Wolfman" turned out to feature multiple werewolves.

Wolfman was always my favorite out of the Universal monsters. As such, I was very leery about this project. The trailers have convinced me of their worth, however. The original was, admittedly, a bit sparse on plot. ("Lawrence, you're a wolfman!" "I don't wanna be a wolfman!" "Stop crying and let us kill you.") The rapid changes in scenery that we see in these new trailers suggests a much deeper plot.

I must confess that when I saw the shirtless dudes, I exclaimed "Niiiiiiice!", but then they started to talk and spew that awful dialogue and all the hotness was replaced by your typical Twilight lameness. At least they are not sparkling.
Does Kristen Stewart have another facial expression besides "I'm sleepy"?

I haven't watched the posted New Moon trailer, but it there any hope that this will turn out to be a subversively advertised Princess Monoke live-action movie? What with the giant wolves, superpowered boyfriend, and spunky girl caught between two worlds? No? Damn kids.

Yeah, that was a good episode of MST3K (which is to be expected when the response to the title screen is "I don't know, you had him last".)...

No. No, there is no hope of that. It is one housewife's masturbatory fantasy spread across 4 glorified harlequin novels designed to [s]appeal to[/s] cash in on outcast girls (and of course, EVERY teenage girl thinks she's an outcast, no matter how popular or unpopular she is).

Forgive me, Skemono. I was trying to convince myself that this could turn out as something other than an artistic trainwreck whose innevitatble success would drive me to throw things at the innocent. And there's a reason I used the qualifier "spunky" (as opposed to strong, defiant, ass-kicking, independent, brutal, gritty, willful, courageous, complex, compelling, intelligent, driven, mature, contemplative, or in any way interesting): it's a generic, empty word for active and/or opinionated, even if the substance and outgrowth of those actions/opinions are painfully shallow.

Damn it, TR! Now I wish to see a "Gillman" movie set in victorian England.
New Moon is some weird new way to promote bestiality to girls, sorry.
And MST3K? Well, I miss the days they riffed old B-movies. These days they do Transformers and stuff, and that's kinda lame.

I've read that a lot of the focus on Werewolves in the 3rd and 4th books of the Twilight Saga are because the author intends to write a spin-off series based on Leah (?) the female werewolf. So, there's a nice new nightmare for all of us.
Don't judge me - I felt I had to read the books, I'm studying to become a librarian. I'm too ashamed to put them on my bookshelf with my Dresden Files, WOT and DragonLance. And you know, cos the universe might implode.

Pocky D said:
Kes don't worry the universe will not implode if you do that. Rather what will happen is this, Dresden and Dragon Lance books will corner the twilight and then start beating them to death slowly. Then most likly after hours of being beatin and haveing bodly fluids spiled apone them the Twighlight book will aloud to die and then replace with the Percy Jackson books who will stand proudly next to other fine young adult books.

I watched the New Moon trailer and i don't get why the vampire government or whatever the fuck they are would be pissed at the dude for stepping out into the sunlight. It wouldn't out him as a vampire and uncover their existence by glittering in public. Everyone would just assume he was on his way to or from a gay pride parade.
