Sorry, but no 199X sub-par animation here -- it's just a live-action trailer for the next Doctor Who special, Water of Mars, airing on the BBC in just a few weeks (and in America on December 19th). It's weird the chick from Rome -- who's twice the age of any of Tennant's other Companions -- seems to be Tennant's new Companion, but whatever. Mars? Water zombies? I'm there, baby.
Oh, and Tennant has just won his first post-Who role -- as a Chicago lawyer in the drama/comedy(?) Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, to air on NBC. Weird. (Via io9)

It looks like it will be a lot better than "The Planet of the Dead."

Hey now. I liked Planet of the Dead. It wasn't the deep, character arc building story that most of these specials seem to be. It was Flight of the Phoenix on an alien planet. But we need the fun throw away episode occasionally.
Also, there can never be too much Who coverage. But, in all honesty, it's, like, three pieces of news. It's BBC's fault for dumping all that information out there on top of each other, after months of nothing.

Looks a whole lot better than the last two crappy specials. They did Christmas and Easter - but where was Halloween?! That would have been great! A Halloween episode! To watch! On Halloween! Written by Stephen Moffat, he always nails the creepy ones.
I wonder why the Doc is wearing the space suit from The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit two-parter. Are the episodes related somehow, or is that just lazy costuming?

The specials are timed to coincide with bank holidays in the UK - and Halloween isn't one.
I'm glad that, for all intents and purposes, this appears to follow the simple formula of how to make a good Doctor Who story:
(1) Take one (1) Doctor
(2) Insert into (1) alien / unusual environment
(3) Add one or monsters
(4) Lock all doors.
(5) Start killing people.
There's no need to overthink things.
I assume you know who will make his presence felt in some form, but hopefully it's a good straightforward story before that.

Well you could argue that since they're both human installations, they both use similar spacesuits. But that's lame. Those episodes took place in the year 4000 or something. One hopes that Mars was slightly better colonized before we had a whole industrial complex on Ood Sphere.
I think it's far more likely that he had the spacesuit in the Tardis after escaping from the Satan Pit, and pulled it out to protect himself from evil water.
Or, maybe spacesuit technology just hasn't changed much in a couple thousand years.

Your mention of the Space Suit from The Satan Pit may have some meaning, A website in the UK posted a truncated review from the Press Screening last week which contained a mention of the Ood making an appearance in this Episode.
I'm just glad it's only 10 more days to go, I'm really looking forward to it.

15th November isn't a bank holiday, it's just an ordinary Saturday as far as I'm aware. I would guess they picked the 15th because on Halloween the kids would have all been out trick or treating, and they skipped last weekend and the next because it's close to Guy Fawkes night and plenty of people would be out going to fireworks displays.
It's a pity it's not a bank holiday as we get very few this half of the year! :)

Your banks don't get Rememberance / Armistice Day off? I assumed that it was a close-enough type of thing, albeit not like Easter Monday.
It's my favourite day to be a financial lawyer, since it's a normal work day but no bank crises to deal with.

seeing that clip makes me want to see how the doctor gets out of this situation even though its one of the last adventures of David and his companion to me looks like an older version of sarah jane like she aged and got stuck on mars.

This looks like is going to be a good one, Tennant is fantastic with creepy/ominous stuff like that. Grr, why does it have to come out so much later in the US! All I know is nothing ever good happens when the Doctor is in that space suit.

Oh, update! Watched a clip on io9 from guardian.co.uk, and they mention in it that they'd never seen a space suit like that before, ergo, he probably just kept it from before and wore it again.

Sadly, we don't get that day off. There is often talk about adding another bank holiday around this time of year (because aside from Christmas there aren't any), so it would be a very good one to use I think.
