I'll admit to not being the biggest fan of the Universal Soldier film "franchise." In fact, the only one I've seen is the first one, and I'm pretty sure I was blasted out of my mind on Pabst Blue Ribbon at the time, so that all I remember is that it starred Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. Happily, that's all I needed to remember to be excited by Universal Soldier: Regeneration, which brings back both Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren for an awesome, direct-to-DVD final showdown. Seriously, I'm excited. I'm not 100% why. I just love that they're both back, even though it might be more of a financial consideration for them than good will. I just get the feeling that when JCVD and Dolph end up watching Universal Soldier: Regeneration at their own premiere, they'll also be blasted on Pabst Blue Ribbon. And I love that. (Via /Film)

Maybe I'm the only one, but I would be willing to unleash massive violence on the universe in exchange for a second Dolph Punisher movie.

Yeah, the only one I ever saw was the first one and the details aren't exactly racing back to mind (he had a twin brother in that one right?)
Seriously, how many US movies were there?

I think the series had already ended on a good note. They bring JVCD back to life!! So they found a cure for death, and the movie kinda glosses over that.

JCVD strength - face punching; Arlovski's weakness - getting punched in the face...

Andrei Orlovski? As a huuuuge MMA fan, he might be the reason I will check this movie out.
I remember I thought Universal Soldier was cool. But I was a little brat then, so my taste might've sucked asscake!

Great JCVD & Dolph together at last! But for me no Jean-Claude Van Damme movie is complete without a trademark Van Damme butt shot. His nude scene in the original Universal Soldier was definitive movie moment in my formative teenage years. The lack of that kind of scene was the dead of Universal Soldier The Return for me. Well that and the lack of a script. I mean you got JCVD, Michael Jai White & Bill Goldberg, and not even a shirt shredded? The Shame!
Hope JCVD, Dolph or at least Andrei Arlovski show us some love, baby!

I just can't be psyched about this.
Jean Claude Van Damme just hasn't really been any good in quite a long time. He's been rocking the B-movie crap for the longest time. I just can't seem to feel good about this one. Now, Dolph Lundgren? Sure, he's cool still. Otherwise? Just not really excited.

Sergeant Andrew Scott is back? The Sergeant Andrew Scott that Van Damme ran through a wood chipper?
That's a trick I doubt even Norman Osborn could pull off.
Okay, that's my contribution to the "major plot hole" pile...
