It's Goin' Down... Punch Out!

If MC Chris' "Fett's Vette" is the "Stairway to Heaven" of nerd hip-hop, then surely this is the genre's "Bohemian Rhapsody." Created by the Flint, Michigan duo The Adventures of Duane and BrandO, the very NSFW "Punch Out!" has Little Mac musicially KO'ing the various boxers from the classic NES game before challenging Mike Tyson's fighting -- and rhyming -- skills in the ring. All this and Mac still has time to throw on his pink sweatsuit and do some training too, with the help of a convenient cheat code. Awesomely, this isn't the pair's only arcade-inspired rap song. (You can hear tunes paying tribute to Pac-Man, Metroid and Tetris over on their MySpace page). Not to start an East Coast/West Coast-style geek rap war or anything, but what do you guys think is the better Punch-Out!! rap song: Duane and BrandO's or this classic? • Chris Cummins
