Ummm...I'm pretty sure Jonah's scarring is on the right side of his face. But maybe I'm just not looking in a mirror.
Otherwise, this movie is looking pretty good.

Josh Brolin is great casting. Of course the absolutely perfect Jonah Hex would be 1969 Clint Eastwood, but alas some things are impossible.

Yeah, the scarring is on the right side of his face.
Judging by some on-set photos I saw a couple of months ago, he doesn't have the freaky-eye. Shame! I love the character, really looking forward to the movie all the same.

Unless they shot that through a mirror, I do believe that would be his right side.

I read somewhere that they were avoiding using the freaky eye as they didn't want people thinking they had ripped off Two-Face from Dark Knight

It'll be an interesting movie and they finally placed Megan Fox in the role she was born to play...a whore. Talk about fitting.

I don't think the eye will make it in.
"The eye thing, I wasn't going to bring that up, but it's one of those things. Jonah Hex is a comic book. It's drawn. In reality, if Jonah Hex had had an eye like that it would be a little raisin somewhere in the back of his brain, you know what I mean? So we thought about it. We didn't have the money to do CGI and all that kind of stuff and we really didn't want to because it's all about right here."

First I've heard of this, are the original comics any good? If Rob's reporting favorably on it, it must at least be decent.

telezombie replied to Gleeman:
to reply to your question Gleeman, Jonah Hex is a very different comic. DC showcase did a collection of the older comics (500 pages book form). One of my favorite stories from that collection is "Weird Western Tales" no. 14. Jonah Hex and his wolf Ironjaws are out in the wild and Ironjaws gets bit by a rattlesnake. Jonah takes the wolf to a doctor in a local town for treatment. Local outlaws recognize him, capture him, and tie him up outside of town in the hot sun to die. Ironjaws manages to find Jonah and frees him but dies from heat exhaustion. Jonah tracks down the outlaws that ambushed him and murders them. The running theme for most of the stories is an eye for an eye mostly with some supernatural elements mixed in from time to time. Not your typical superhero stories at all.
As far as whether this movie will be any good, I don't really care. I stopped caring about comic to movie adaptations long ago. Way too many directors following the Michael Bay formula for success in my opinion. I'll continue to read the comic as long as it's published, although in this digital age that might not be much longer (at least in a paper format).

It's a pity Megan Fu... um Fox is in it. She takes the acting IQ down 50 points...

Two words will keep me out of the theater for this. "Megan" "Fox". I won't spend money to see her in anything.

The face scaring is on the correct side (just google Jonah Hex and check out the images) But anyway, I'm willing to sacrifice my time to see this movie even though "that woman" is in it

Is it a prerequisite for commenting on this movie to make fun of Megan Fox? I'm sure your nerd egos can survive someone being better looking than you...

I'm just glad that his time they managed to put out a picture that didn't make Josh Brolin look like he has tiny tyrannosaurus arms, which the first pic did.

The eye was next to impossible to nail because it kept getting infected, badly and quickly, but the rest of the scars are there. Anyone not familiar with the character can give it a shot by picking up a book at a local comic shop or stopping by amazon.com.
thanks.
