​Here's an odd thing that Super Punch dug up that blew my mind -- H.R. Giger was asked to design the Batmobile for the third '90s Batman movie, Batman Forever. It's that spidery-lookin' thing up above. This freaks me out on my levels, not least of which because Giger's work always freaks me out -- seriously, that Batmobile looks like it would crawl out from the cracks in the walls by the million during someone DTs -- but also because I'm not mentally able to conceive of something being awesome inside a Joel Schumacher Batman film. It's like having a winning lottery ticket inside a pile of shit. You wouldn't think to look there for it, but if did and found it, your sense of reality would be forever shattered. That was what killed the franchise, after all: people sticking in what THEY thought was cool instead of what BATMAN would think was cool. Ironic references to the Adam West TV series? Snow Miser jokes? Latex nipples? Sure, why not?
Because Batman would have vetoed them with a chop to the trachea, that's why.
