For what it was at the time, it was a pretty hard edge movie. Raph was more like his comic book/graphic novel version, and the violence was tougher than the cartoon. There were a lot of harder moments in the movie than I think people expected. It was a tough movie compared to the cartoon that made it popular at the time. The graphic novel version mixed with the cartoon pretty much. I loved that movie.
