I'm not much of a Hoobastank fan, but I do appreciate the works of Ray Parker Jr. I also appreciate homemade Ghostbusters costumes, so here's a very recent video of the band Hoobastank playing the Ghostbusters theme song for this past Halloween. It's pretty good, but also makes me think I probably wouldn't like hanging out with these guys in real life. I'm sure they're crushed.
And on an only vaguely related note, do you remember the scene in the original "Ghostbusters" music video where the ghost unzips Dan Aykroyd's fly? Man, that used to freak me out, and it still does. When I was little, I was concerned that a ghost could attack the Ghostbusters in their own HQ, and could also sexually assault them. When I was older, I was upset because the scene made me think about Dan Aykroyd's penis, which is one of the least sexy things I can possibly imagine. I actually upset myself just not, remembering it. Yuck. Thanks for nothing, Hoobastank. (Via NerdBastards)

What makes me upset about the Ackroyd scene is that it's apparently part of a much longer sequence that got axed from the movie, which is why Ernie Hudson wound up with so little screen time when all was said and done.

See, this is just another log on the fire that says how Ghostbusters are coming back in a big way and that a Ghostbusters 3 wouldn't just be passed over. Now, I do admit, being a BIG ghostbuster fan that I am really cautious and I'm glad they are working on it quite dilligently to get all the kinks out before they go to filming it.

P.S. The scene you mention is in the movie as well, serves as a wet dream type sequence for the overworked Ray. A subtle reminder that the only one who probably got some ass while being Ghostbusters is Venkman.

I was a Ghostbuster for Halloween. I went to Salem, MA.. Halloween Headquarters.. Three guys there had movie accurate ghostbusters costumes.. which really showed me up. I did have the 80's Toy backpack witha modified strap.. So, Mine was pretty sweet too!

Okay, I love the first Ghostbusters movie but I've hated the theme song since it came out and feel it only (barely) works within the context of the movie. As a pop tune that one might listen to on the radio it's an outright piece of shit, it's repetitive as hell and is pretty much about nothing. "There's something strange in your neighborhood. Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!" That's pretty much it, set on repeat. Enough already!
