I'd been ignoring Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar's sequel to the Western-themed GTA-esque sandbox game Red Dead Revolver, mainly because no one cared about Red Dead Revolver and I just wanted to fit in with the cool kids. But enough of you guys have emailed me about this Red Dead Redemption video that I decided to take a look, and... wow. I'm not sure that it's a must-buy for me -- I'm pretty sure I'll still be playing Final Fantasy XIII when it comes out in April (possibly having not shaved, showered, or emptied my special Final Fantasy bedpan, which I keep for these releases) -- but it looks a lot more interesting than Grand Theft Auto has for a while. I do enjoy a good Western, though. I can only pray there's a "Fill Your Hand, You Sonuva Bitch" button.

OMG! I have never seen this before. This looks 100% better the any of the GTA. Now my Question is. Will it be for PC only. Like a MMORPG, or will it be on console like the 360/PS3?

From what I've seen, it's only going to be on the PS3 and 360 when it comes out.

If you missed out on Red Dead Revolver, I recommend checking it out. It was short but highly creative and did justice to the shootout. I am pumped for this sequel and am really happy to see it on the horizon.

Quite impressed. It's definitely on the radar now. The only hesitency i have is that it looks like RPG-ADD will be even worse in a game with such a big landscape. I can never get anything done in GTA cause i'm distracted by shinies. Wonder if the rural setting will have enough oomph of a story to keep focused on.

I have been waiting for this game all of my life. Seriously, from my youngest days I wanted a cowboy themed RPG. Of course, until ten years ago I expected something less open world. Mother of fucking god, I must have this game.

I will be buying this. The original Red Dead Revolver was awesome. I played the shit out of it. VS mode was the real reason to play though. The unlockables in the game all came into play in VS mode.

Did not expect I would ever be this excited about a Rockstar game again after GTA4, I was just mucking about with a mount and blade western mod and wishing it was better, when I see this, it has made my day.

Now if they could just scrap the cowboy idea and make this into a really awesome The Dark Tower game, I would be simply orgasmic. He even kinda looks like Roland. Could you imagine instead of the wolves, fighting off the lobster monstrosities on the beach? Giggle.
