Yes, I will need a shower, preferably a shower consisting mainly of bleach.

Not trying to tempt any FFF abuse, but I still find the Trek video for NIN's Closer more disturbing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uxTpyCdriY

Bailed at 1:07. I must go repeatedy smash my face into a wall until I die.
Seriously, TR has to concentrate on stuff that won't induce my suicide.

You did better than me- I bailed at 0:22. I loved the movie and the original, and I just couldn't defile it that way. FFF is bad enough for my soul without this.

Wow. That was something else. I should have waited to have a shower. I didn't make it more than a minute in. I feel really dirty.

...You know, what has all the K/S types all butthurt is that Gene Roddenberry himself sank their ship 30 years ago with one footnote in the novelization of ST:TMP. In that footnote, Kirk points out himself that it would be totally illogical for someone with his libido to choose a partner who only came in heat once every seven years.

John Hazard replied to OM:
Yes, but the very fact that Roddenberry and Kirk responded to the long running speculation in such a humorously coy but open minded way, as if to suggest it wasn't an offensive or outrageous idea, shows how far ahead he was of his Trek running descendants like Braga, Berman, Moore, and Abrams.

Callie K. replied to OM:
It's been argued, and well argued, that the footnote doesn't shoot anything down, and this is probably the best essay on it: http://www.alternateuniverses.com/judygran/footnote.txt
Did you stop and think that by adding that footnote Roddenberry was throwing fuel on the fire? Because rather than shooting it down, you can look it up but he's also said:
"Yes, there's certainly some of that -- certainly with love overtones. Deep love. The only difference being, the Greek ideal-- we never suggested in the series-- physical love between the two. But it's the-- we certainly had the feeling that the affection was sufficient for that, if that were the particular style of the 23rd century."

Someday, those of us nerds who choose (or are able) to breed will have to explain to the next generation what was so great about slash fiction. I will point to this.

I died of laughter at 1:42. If you bailed less than a minute in, you missed COMEDY GOLD.
