No big mind-fuck here, it's just a Japanese pachinko machine with a Matrix theme to it. But it did result in these awesome commercials...
...so that technically puts it ahead of the actual Matrix movie, which resulted in Reloaded and Revolutions. Question -- is that really Carrie-Anne Moss in those commercials? I doubt it is, but don't you think she'd have been available if the Japanese asked for her? (Via Super Punch)

I wouldn't be terribly surprised. Really big-name actors slumming in Japanese ads for a paycheck is a pretty common phenomenon.
I assume the thinking is being outside the US, appearing in something as gauche as a TV ad doesn't hurt their "Credibility"

If you've seen Shia LeBeuf's Disturbia (and I have several times thanks to my daughter) you'll know that Carrie Ann Moss is no longer starving herself to fit in those Matrixy patent leather body suits. She has a nice, soft, motherly figure now.
I assume to the folks in Japan any big bald black guy looks like Morpheus, because that sure didn't look like Laurence Fishburne to me.
