I will say the movie based figures were terrible but the new ones they are releasing look great.

The best figures from the movie line are predictably the ones that didn't actually appear in the movie in any significant role, like the awesome Pit Commando or Shipwreck.
So taking an entire line of non-movie stuff should, logically, work out very well.

I'm digging this card style as well, but I'm still not convinced it's real. Almost all of Hasbro's current packaging employs some sort of angles on the top, and I'm not sure they're ready to go back to the rounded rectangle of the classic cards yet. And if this is supposed to be the PoC card, then I'd think that subtitle would be worked into the GI Joe logo like with the current RoC cards.
Guess we'll find out soon enough, and I do hope I'm wrong.

I'm liking what I see so far for both the figure and the vehicle designs for the new year. The figures look like they have finally broken free of the monochrome grays and blacks of the ROC line, and have some excellent accessories (no more of those damn Rob Liefield/Todd Mc Farlane comic sized missile launchers, thank you). They also have new scuplts that aren't just repaints and frankenjoes of older molds. The vehicles are also new sculpts with a definite science fiction twist, but not to the degree that they simply look like Star Wars/Master of the Universe designs, unlike some of the repainted Spy Troops/ Valor vs. Venom Line that have been repainted for ROC.
I'm cautiously optimistic so far.

I just noticed the silver logo, tag-line-less logo. So... GI Joe is no longer "A Real American Hero", eh?

I just want more toon accurate figures...
Is that SO much to ask?

Monkey boy replied to Paolo Mongon:
Then I hope you weren't one of the thousands that bitched about that purple snake eyes in the pyramid of darkness set. Since snake eyes was indeed purple in the "toon". Black just doesn't show up. Wanting toon accurate figures of a cartoon based on a line of action figures is so meta I think my mind just wrapped itself around the mental equivalent of a telephone pole.

I no longer collect the Joes in this scale. The last one I bought was Blowtorch last February or so, but I do dig the look of these cardbacks. Pretty sweet.
Still gonna stick w/ my Sideshow Joes though, even if Firefly has a hoodie.
