I don't want to unnecessarily hype the game before it comes out, but the Transformers: War for Cybertron game might be the savior of the Transformers franchise for all us nerds still bitter over robot testicles and racists. The new trailer seemingly confirms that the game will be set entirely on Cybertron, with the Autobots and Decepticons having Cybertronian vehicle modes (and yet they're all instantly recognizable for fans, huh). It also seemingly confirms that the game will be badass, what with all the robot killing. Please, please, derive as much joy from this video as you can -- because this is what I was going to report this morning. Thanks to Halfazedninja for the tip.

What I only just noticed... the landscape of Cybertron transforms, too. Roads unfold where you need them, barricades spring up to protect you... this is such a neat idea I wonder why no one (myself included) came up with it before.

This game desperately needs either lots of DLC characters or a create-a-character function. There are just too many characters that dorks like me want to play before using an Optimus Prime or Soundwave. Seaspray must take his rightful place as ruler of Cybertron.

Completely agreed; hearing that voice for Megatron snapped me completely out of my near drug-like trance.
Everything else was just so RIGHT with this trailer that this one small misstep is, for me, magnified 100x. So frustratingly close to perfection! ;D

Do remember Welker voiced both Soundwave and Devastator. They're probably saving Welker for one of those roles.
But yes, this new Megatron does sound harsh on the ears. Then again, this is a trailer, not actual gameplay footage, so...I'm going to save judgment for now.

I'm shocked it will be on the Wii.
It will not look that good. Instead, it will have some stupid motion control to transform that will be all to easily mixed up with the 'jump off this cliff' action that will ruin gameplay.

I'm not one to get all hyped over trailer that doesn't feature gameplay (I've been hurt too many times) but GOD DAMN IT LOOKS SO COOL!
Keeping my fingers crossed that we will finally get a good G1 game (albeit, with slightly tweaked designs for the robots, which I personally am all for since you can still tell who's who.)

On a Bayformers hating side note, look at how detailed these guys are, and they maintain their own unique looks and personalities, like transformers should, and don't end up looking like frantic pile of garbage. Michael Bay could learn a thing or two from the art directors of this game.

You know, as much as I enjoyed Bay's Transformers movies (although with the passage of time, I have to concede that ROTF is becoming increasingly harder to defend), once I saw this trailer I thought to myself that there's no reason that they couldn't have made them look like this; they look close enough to their cartoon and comic versions to appeal to the fans, yet look detailed and realistic enough that a mainstream audience would buy into them.
IGN already thinks this could do for Transformers games what Batman: Arkham Asylum did for Batman games. Let's hope so.

Game looks fantastic, but I'd really like to see some actual gameplay. I don't get it, all the 'bots in this are easily recognizable and look just like modernized versions of their 80's counterparts. And yes this trailer had shown that it wasn't needed to make transformer look like waling piles of metallic shards in the movie.

Seriously, the only way that Transformers 3 could ever redeem the series would be if, within the first ten minutes, Megan Fox, the Beef, and every other human character is painfully killed. Then the war moves to Cybertron, and they show 90 minutes of footage a middle-schooler made of himself playing the "War for Cybertron" game.

Seeing this trailer has pushed me over the edge.
