Wait a second. Does this mean the show's real name is "Stargate: Stargate Universe-1"? Fantabulous.
• Dante's Inferno
The anime of the videogame based on the classic work of literature in that a character is called Dante and it takes place in hell. I'll pass, thanks.
• The Guild Season 3
Felicia Day and pals continue to have wacky hijinks in and out of the World of Warcraft. I think. Probably. I haven't watched it.
• Bushido: The Cruel Code of the Samurai
Apparently this is a classic Japanese movie about several generations of a samurai family that won some awards. Sounds kind of cool.
• XIII: The Conspiracy
All I know about XIII is that it's a French spy comic, and the only reason I know that is because of that PS2 game from a few years ago. I didn't know there had been a movie starring Val Kilmer until I got on Amazon about 20 minutes ago.

I'm pretty sure it means SGU season 1. Which is weird since season 1 HASN'T ENDED.

I guess it's like part 1 then? maybe someone really couldn't wait for the full season to come out.

I'm fairly certain it ended. If I remember correctly the finale involved someone being murdered and the captain being framed for it by the smarty pants guy. Then the captain beats up the smarty pants guy on a random planet they found and leaves him there. The gate closes and he is stuck there "forever". I'd bet that he somehow makes it off the planet and is in season 2 considering he is on the front cover of the DVD.

It's the first half (10 episodes) of season 1.
It's like how Battlestar Galactica released seasons 2.0 and 2.5 on DVD. It's mostly so they can get more DVDs out/faster.

dantes inferno wasn't bad, the fact that you watch heros everyweek... that's bad
you claim to be a media geek boy? and yet you haven't watched the guild? what do you do with your life? watch only TV shows?
I demand a nerdier robot with less fanfiction stories which make we why I even come here in the first place, low IQs and random junk, filling my day with some thing I look forward to, why? yay video blogs, so many of them online that I don't need this one anymore... been over a year and I just can't do it anymore, such a lack of... quality

I think in general it means we suck? FFF a week, so often it's nuts, pretty much totally makes the blog a porno blog.

Ohh...see I thought he meant that FFF makes him wee.
Which I could understand since they are hysterical and traumatizing.

Maybe that's just why he/she doesn't seem to like us anymore? I mean words on a website that you are clearly being forced to read makes one wet themselves on a weekly basis. Man i'd be pissed. Ha!

thanks for the reasoning Greymattersplat
I think I was in a bad mood this morning and didn't have time for good grammer or a quick "firefox - right click - spell check", but those who didn't understand the point I was trying to make obviously took offense at the fact that I took offense to this site. I've been a huge fan of TR for over a good year now, and I think Rob does a really really really good job at running a blog, he does a good job of covering his interests and even others that he doesn't like very much. But it just gets irritating after while when other quality {programs/games/webseries/tv shows/movies} get slammed for no real reason except that some people don't relate to other things that other people like.
I agreed with almost everything Rob has been saying about Avatar, many of my friends have said, just drop all that critiquing and go and enjoy a wonderful, beautiful 3d 'trip'... to them I say "I can't. I've seen so many good, low budget movies, so many wonderful high budget movies, and even though I love aesthetics and graphic design and new tech, I still can't bring my self to watch another James Cameron movie just because it is put right in front of me and marketed to me in such a way that it almost completely dissolves the illusion of choice.
I used to watch heros religiously, but as soon as they continued season 2, I just stopped, it lost all of it's character development and became goofy. It's nice to see a community online who watches something only to bash it, I'm pretty sure that many shows are marketed this way, it's not that they need to sell something you like, they just need to find a gimmick to keep you watching.
Fan Fiction Fridays? as much as some people find it funny to make fun of the furry community, (myself included) I'm sorta sickened that every friday this is one of the highlights of this blog... I've tried introducing many of my friends to this blog, but am almost embarrassed to pass on something which has stories of pedophilia and bestiality... not that I'm against those things, but I really don't need to support them either, even if it's all in good fun, there are many other places to go online to TROLL for sexual depravity.
Thank you all for your comments and keeping me inline.
Rob, watch the guild, if you've ever been an awkward person, or have ever been an uber geek, or you have friends who are gamers, then I really think you'll like this show... I'm not an MMO gamer, but I still get a kick out of this show, same with Legend of Neil.
And I only recommend Dante's Inferno (cartoon) to anyone who hasn't read the book and wants a good fantasy/action cartoon which anthropomorphizes the poetry, or theology studiers who want a nice original tale on death and the devil.
THANKS TR and friends

The Guild is indeed awesome, but it's still pretty much unknown to people that aren't really gamers. I know that we all think that the things that we personally enjoy should be the exact same things that everybody else enjoys; because they're obviously so amazingly awesome that how could someone NOT like them...but let's all try to remember that tastes are subjective, and just because it's the biggest thing in your world, doesn't mean it is in someone else's. Personally, I've only come to this place recently, but I love it like I've been here since day 1. Filled with stuff that, even if it's not directly in my wheelhouse, is at least definitely in the right neighborhood...no matter how "low" the IQ might ultimately get during the discussion.

I hate The Guild, and I find Felicia Day's whole schtick to be an annoying, blatant, and insulting attempt at geek-appeal.

But you can catch episodes for free, so I don't know why you'd pay for a DVD. Just download them from Xbox Live or other online sources.
-
You kind of have to be a 20-something WoW nerd (or crazy-huge Whedonite who digs lame "edgy" banter and Whedon alumi) to dig The Guild. Personaly, I believe that if you're over 30 and still digging The Guild, then you have more of a Peter Pan Syndrome than I do, and that's saying something.
-
Of course, I still torture myself with Heroes, so I can't exactly criticize, now can I?

I don't understand how what Ms. Day does can be called a "schtick" and an "attempt at geek appeal" when she IS a huge gamer and nerd--she's writing what she knows....how many roles outside of a Whedon production or The Guild has Ms. Day been a geeky nerd? She has a college degree in mathematics, for fuck's sake. How on EARTH can she be attempting geek appeal? She IS geek appeal....
I disagree with your general opinion of "The Guild," as well, but that's whatever. I think Heroes is a pile of steaming shit, so we're even on that account.

Whereas I think his take on The Guild is pretty spot on.
I really really tried to like it. I watched the first season and pretty frequently got that "I'm embarrassed for them" feeling. Some of the writing is ok-ish, but I have a really hard time getting around the ridicubad acting acting and production values; I know it's a web series, but come on.
They take something that could be potentially funny and clever and kind of just smear it all over the restroom stall door with their fingers. The Guild kicks me in my soul's balls as both a gamer and an actor.

Or just write some random gaming crap down and give it to your local community theater, Rob...you'll get about the same result.

actually looking at the cover it says:
Stargate
SG-U
Universe
1.0
Which would make it Stargate Universe: Stargate Universe: 1.0
(I think they should have worked a little more in there like a subtitle)

I hate SGU. It is the most boring piece of crap that I've ever seen. Honestly, I have no idea what the guys at SG-1 were thinking. I would've liked to see more of the Ori than this crap.
Although the Guild is awesome! I love that show. You should totally watch it Rob. Since the episodes are pretty short it would take you that long.
