?A press release I got from Marvel just minutes ago:

Marvel Entertainment, LLC announced today that it has appointed Jeph
Loeb as Executive Vice President, Head of Television, a newly created
division of Marvel Entertainment.  In this new role, Mr. Loeb will work
alongside Dan Buckley, Publisher & President of the Print, Animation
& Digital Divisions, Marvel Worldwide, Inc., to translate Marvel’s
popular characters and stories to the television medium, in both
live-action and animation formats. In addition to these
responsibilities, Mr. Loeb will oversee the development and distribution
of live-action, animated and direct-to-DVD series. Mr. Loeb was
previously a Marvel-exclusive Eisner-Award-winning comic book writer and
an Emmy-nominated writer for his work on NBC’s Heroes. The announcement
was made today by Alan Fine, Executive Vice President, Office of the
President and Chairman of Marvel Studios’ Creative Committee, and by Mr.
Buckley, to whom Mr. Loeb will report.

Immediate thoughts:
? Did Marvel only watch the first season of Heroes?
? Even if they did, did they forget that Tim Kring fired Loeb from Heroes for sucking?
? Not that Marvel wasn’t getting their asses handed to them already in the direct-to-DVD category by DC, but this… well, this will change nothing but the severity of the ass-kicking.
? Is Loeb about to put his finger in Hayden Panetierre’s nose in the picture above? I think he might be.
? It’s probably a good thing the comments are down at the moment, because you nerds would likely break TR with the nerd rage.
? Does this mean Loeb can’t do comics any more? If so, is this a fair trade?
? Seriously, Tim Kring though Jeph Loeb wasn’t good enough to work on Heroes. Yeah, that’s a guy I want in charge of all my TV entertainment.
