Seconded.

sweet, zombie jesus!! are you SURE this is on a TV budget?! cuz godDAMN it looks (horrifically) BEAUTIFUL! one thing tho: does any of you have a red flag popping up when he said "veer off the path and find the interesting detours?"
-
cause its a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE COMIC
-
I think its freaking awesome that Darabont is working with Kirkman, and in The Mist special features he's hanging out with Eric Powell. He is obviously the very best kind of nerd.
-
Robert Kirkman is a guy with a generally good creative sense, but I've always found a lot of his ideas would be vastly improved by an editor. Frank Darabont is an amazingly talented director and writer, and I think he's just the guy to fix Kirkman's creative weaknesses. Hence, while I'm lukewarm on the comic, I'll probably give this a shot.
-
Yeah..it would be hard to believe that any zombie fan doesn't know about The Walking Dead by now...wait..there is that guy that doesn't have dialup and lives in his basement...yeah that guy maybe
-
Darabont is absolutely the man for the job and I am totally jazzed about this project.
-
You gave it a shot and it just didn't click for you. No harm, no foul. I've read it since the first issue and while I enjoy it, it's at times overwhelmingly depressing and it seriously got stuck in a rut around two years ago, but it's back on track at the moment.

Dear zombie jesus no.....

This could only turn into a survey forum: I love Darabont's sensibilities. I'm thrilled, though not surprised, KNBfx is working on it. I'm not a comic reader and never knew of the series until last year and my comic buddies asking me what I think about a zombie tv show based on a comic series.... I'm pleased to hear Kirkman is enjoying the progress of the show.

I have mixed feelings about the Walking Dead series. I love zombies, but I need a little levity with them (Zombieland was right up my alley). Walking Dead is terribly bleak. And yet terribly fascinating too. I read all but the latest two issues, mainly because of some shit that went down relating to one of my favorite characters (but you'd think I'd know better than to get attached to a character living during a zombie apocalypse). Now rereading 'em. I say give them another try.
-
mmmmmmmmmmmm Robert Kirkman... hot comic bear goodness And walking dead looks good too
-
Huh, thought the show was coming to a different channel than AMC. also I find it hard to believe that there would be zombie fans who aren't at least passively familiar with the book
-
Ooooooooohh... I think I wet myself a bit when I saw him on the horse.
-
I liked it, especially the first trade or two. I've read the first six, and I was reading them voraciously for a bit, but I slowed down, in part because of some pretty bad shit that happens about four books in. I think the reason I liked it was because it was more about surviving, and in that, it reminded me of the first half of The Stand, or for that matter, Lord of the Flies and Lost. It's a common theme, and it can be a good one. But you know, to each their own. I don't care how good Jimmy Corrigan is supposed to be, I've had that book for almost 10 years and I've yet to get to the half way point.
-
yep. You might as well have just deleted all that instead of posting it.
-
Cannot wait to see this show, love the comic, and it looks like they're doing it up right. How often does that ever happen? Props to telezombie
-
I swear to god, one of those zombies is freaking Tommy Wiseau. Does no one else see that? >>

I know that I am just asking for trouble by asking this question here of all places but I would really like an answer. What is so great about Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead? I have never been a big zombie fan but people keep saying it is great and recommending it. I have tried to read it several times. I have tried to see what is good about it. I so far can't find anything to like about Walking Dead. I have never been able to get through one of the collected graphic novels all the way without putting it down and not picking it back up. I like Robert Kirkman's other work but I guess Walking Dead is just not for me.
