Harvey Pekar, 1939-2010

Harvey Pekar, renowned comics writer, cancer survivor and creator of the American Splendor autobiography, died earlier today in Cleveland. Pekar's body of work, chronicling the extraordinary out of the seemingly mundane, is as important a legacy as anyone's in the medium of comics. He was both a brilliant artist and a normal guy, and the world is poorer for his loss. (Via the Cleveland Leader)
