Seibertron has a slew of new Transformers: Prime promo videos, and I swear I'm showing you the very best one. The one that makes Transformers: Prime look the most entertaining. Indeed, if you don't go watching the character specific promos for Arcee, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and new unnecessary child sidekick Jack Darby, you might be able to look past the bland, sparse environments, the weird mouth-slits all the Transformers have, and that all the fight scenes have at last one Autobot who launches him/her/itself high into the air into a crowd of nameless Decepticons grunts. So... don't go watch those other videos, is what I'm saying. Just watch this one, and cross your fingers.

I'd agree, except that a five-part miniseries is a far cry from a "regular tv show".
-
Anydboy saying Beast Wars looked better than this really need their eyes checked or a lesson on invalid hyperbole. It's darn impressive actauly, it's the best animated TF show to this day judging from the clips and ite the FIRST SHOW EVER the Studio ahs worked on, I expect great things in the future.
-
- Ever since TF:Animated, I'm ok with Prime having a mouth. - The animation is NOT worse that Beast Wars, it's just... different. - I didn't know this was only a 5 part mini-series. Are they hoping it will be commissioned for a full series?
-
Call me a traditionalist, but Prime needs a fucking faceplate. That and Peter Cullen's voice are what made Prime badass in the first place.
-
This looks extremely awful in way of CG. I mean it has been years since Reboot and this is the level of quality they can get for a Transformers TV show? What gives? youtube.com/watch?v=aNQlO6TUrEI That is my video and I did it in less than a day and it looks better than this show. I'm just one guy. This is like mid 90s level of quality. There is no excuse for this low level quality of animation for such a big property. Utter garbage looking. Check out Cat Shit One online and you'll see what level of CG they should be at. It is not hard to make CG as it used to. Like the backgrounds for example. Grab Vue 8 and have at it. Put some Zbrush in your life and back on textures. What is wrong with these people putting out this garbage. And why does there always have to be some little human kid buddy in the formula. Can't it be about the robots.
-
Is it too late to want Japan to make Transformers again?
-
There is nothing wrong with the design beyond the mouths. What you're missing is that no matter the models or textures it takes a huge amount of time and money to render and animate. Which is feasible for a one time feature length film not a regular tv show. When it comes to animation never blame the designers or animators, blame the producers and money backing it.

HUB is carried by most major cable or dish networks. It replaced Discovery Kids, which no one in hell watched. Which, is probably why you haven't seen it unless you've looked for it. Not like original shows (outside of adult swim) fair much better on other kids networks.

Truer words have never been spoken my friend. I'm fed up with Rob and all these G1 Fanboys complaining about the same old shit, "G1 was better, The live movies suck, No human sidekicks in my TFs, Beasts Wars sucked, New stuff looks stupid, Michael Bay is Raping TFs, ETC." Enough all ready!! Now that Transformers have re-entered the mainstream, people have been more critical than ever. Like Sluglady25, Transformers was intended for kids, and will mostly be for kids. Just be glad you fanboys have the IDW comics and the Generations toyline. Quit complaining and let other people enjoy Transformers. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be watching my DVD copy of ROTF for the 10th time.

While I agree to your opinion on the WfC designs, I think the designs for Prime are a perfect blend of Bayformers and Animated. They look alien and pointy like Bayformers, but with the stylization of Animated. At least I - as a TF fan - am pleased. They can't make it look too much like G1. Kids nowadays mostly know Bayformers, they want to see similar characters to the ones in the movies.
-
Okay, I'm sick of hearing all the complaints already. Everyone is doing the same thing when TFA was being promoted: Ragging on the animation, the characters and why is needs to be "enter generation 1 trait here", before anyone sees one episode. And what happened? It became one of the most loved TF series in years, being compared to the G1 series AND praised for it's style. And now it's happening again. And even if it isn't interesting, even if we end up hating it, allow me to let you all in on a little secret: It's. A. Kids. Show. Look at it. It's animated for kids. It's written for kids. Stop complaining about a show that is obviously directed to ages under 13. You just sound like stereotypical geeks that are too busy surfing twitter to move out of your parents basement. (We're trying to break that stereotype, remember?)
-
That's pretty much what I'm hoping for. With a few notable exceptions I still think a lot of the core designs for TF: Animated just don't look very good. But the story was amazing and easily made it one of my favorites in the franchise.
-
If you really think that BW had better animation, you better have your eyes checked or need to see some stills from both shows side by side.
-
So where are all those people from the comments in the past clips who tore into people like me who trashed the animation defending it as "not finished"? Not much rendering time left, folks. I stand by my statement: Beast Wars had better computer animation 14 years ago.
-
I'm actually pretty sure this is going to be at least okay, but with one of TFA's writers on board, I have a feeling it's going to be good. Plus, it looks like Bayformers, but with all the suckiness drained out.
-
Sam Witwicky's little humping dogs raiding a used pan of kitty litter would be more interesting. =|
-
meant animation and design. to me its obvious they are not taking the much needed time to develop a visually pleasing, quality 3d look, which means money. and the designs lack depth and original style... your basic jackie chan adventures look that has saturated the action adventure genre for the past decade.... which is what i meant by lack of talent. the voices, i admit, are great talents.
-
I think it would have to be.
-
MOUTHS!
-
No, no, no. Its from when they hung around the G.I.Joes. It seems that Optimus got infected with the SnakeEyes Gets A Mouth virus that they featured in the GiJoe movie.
-
Wait, Peter Cullen, Frank Welker and Duane Johnson = lack of talent?
-
perfect blend of CHEAP and LACK OF TALENT!
-
What if the story turns out to be really REALLY good?
-
Because making us nerds happy is not on their "to do" list.
-
Why oh why didn't they just go with the designs from War for Cybertron? They were the perfect blend of G1 charm and modern mecha design.
-
I dunno. Still looks like it might be good to me. The ads on The Hub itself are a lot better. Besides, Peter Cullen's voice pretty much trumps everything. Hell, at least it'll probably be better than ROTF (And anything's got to be better than that, right? RIGHT?)
-
Actually, this is part of the mouth removal surgery he's having after what Bayformers did to him. But you see, he only got the lips removed and then they begun shooting Transformers Prime...
-
NOW I understand why they stuck this show on a network nobody has. They're just fucking ashamed of it. Reboot had better CG and it was made aeons ago!
-
*sees Optimus* DEAR GOD!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR FAAAACE!!!??!?
-
Looks like a Playstation game.
-
"And our planet is going to need him for much more than a cheeseburger!" Aww come on, that line is epic XD
-
Already seeing Transformers at it's lowest point, I don't see how this show could make things any worst. I'm just happy the kids don't look like Shia Leboaf and Megan Fox.
-
I dunno, I still don't think it looks that bad. The worst I can really say is that it's simply adequate. It works for what it is but it doesn't really seem to excel in any way.
-
I didn't know Carl Fredericksen knew the Transformers when he was a kid. They really should have mentioned that in UP.
