South London Thugs Vs. Aliens
New Awesome Movie alert: Behold the trailer for Attack the Block, a movie which is… well, as the title states, about young thugs from South London fighting aliens. Imagine Independence Day or Battle: LA, except instead of the world’s military getting called in, the thugs take care of the alien invasion themselves because they’re fucking thugs. I think that’s fabulous. The scene where the kids realize a vicious alien has landed in front of them and they just laugh, because that alien is just so fucked — that’s cinema magic right there. Nick Frost doesn’t hurt, either.
Hey, Hollywood — here’s a movie that would actually benefit from an American remake. Hire everybody from The Wire and have the aliens land in Baltimore. Hell, set it in The Wire. I’d watch the living shit out of that. (Via First Showing)
