Argh! Why does Topless Robot keep having adverts for nude dancing in Dallas next to it? Is it the word "topless" in the title? Or is it Fan-Fiction Friday?
More links from around the web!
Does anybody else think Link looks like a kinda dorky version of James Franco? Also, +10 for Marty's puffy jacket.
My favorite mash-up of all time, with two of my favorite IP's. Link does an outstanding Marty impersonation! And Zelda was smoking hot cute except when she said "reeeeeealm"
Look, it's simple: There isn't any timeline. Link defeated Ganon only once, a thousand years ago. The exact details have been lost in the mists of history, and the story has grown and changed and mutated as it's been told over and over again, by bards and scholars and parents at bedtime. Each game is a different version of the legend of Zelda.
Because that totally explains Zelda 2 and the Oracle games (about villains trying to revive Ganon)And Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (Fighting a Ganon who had already been defeated at least once)And Majora's Mask and Minish Cap (Don't involve fighting Ganon at all)
I could go on.
Except that initially, the two Nintendo games flow right into eachother, and Link to the Past is how Gannon was sealed away for the first game. Plus the game boy dream game takes place between the Link to the Past and the first game. (And there's no Gannon in that game, despite what the video said. It very specifically states that it's Link after he beat Gannon, implying that this is how his descendant doesn't know Zelda in the first game) There's also those Season and Ages Game boy games that directly follow Zelda II and the raise Gannon plot.
Having never played newer games than that, I thought Ocarina was supposed to be the original creation of the Dark World and Gannon, but I know there's some timeline issues and such, causing all the confusion now. But at the very least, there is at least ONE ongoing and simple timeline in the series from the original NES/SNES/Gameboy games.
Ocarina is pretty much agreed by everybody to be the chronological start of the series. We get the details of Link's birth and childhood, his first encounter with Zelda and Gannondorf, Ganon's first conquering of Hyrule, and the Triforce being split between the series' main three characters.
Plus the whole line of Ganon's about cursing Link and Zelda's descendants to fight him eternally...these things would seem to indicate Ocarina comes first. Except that Skyward Sword is meant to be about the creation of the Master Sword, so I guess it comes first now?
Alright, now THAT interpretation is brilliant! About the only change I would make is the differentiation between the other games and the three installments at or after Wind Waker. Personally, I think if you're too bothered about a timeline confirmed by the creator to have no canonicity whatsoever, you're playing the game wrong.
I go to school with the people who made this! In fact, I first saw it at our college's film department's end-of-the-year screening. Got a big laugh out of everyone in the audience.
And for those above me complaining about the girl who played Zelda: She's an international student from Poland, so maybe it's just the accent that's throwing you off. I don't know, this was the first time I'd ever seen her act.
AVGN needs to watch that as he did a chronologically confused video about Zelda, but even so that explanation and still did not really make much sense. The timeline seams more crazy then I first thought after hearing that :P
what? I thought she was pretty cute. And better than the guy who played Link - though I get that Link was supposed to be more like Marty and not Link.
I think she was doing bad acting partly on purpose. I almost did a spit-take on real-mm.
... really? Maybe I'm just used to bad acting, but for a fun little fanfilm I thought they are did well in their roles.
You thought JUST the girl was awful? I didn't see anyone who fell under the umbrella of "not terrible".
Have to say though, it's priceless at the end when he turns back up to homage BTTF2's ending.
Complete with the vest!
Oh, yeah, I definitely laughed at that. The vest was just so over-the-top and perfect for that.
Alright I'm sorry, I'm so VERY, very sorry. BUT FFF CAME EARLY TODAY. PUN INTENDED.
Very NSFW video, but that goes without saying. This was a violation of my childhood every bit as bad as your regular, everyday FFF, and it's free to see on Youtube reagrdless of age or maturity!
Did anyone else make those DeLorean time travel noises when they played Zelda Spirit Tracks? You know, when you go through those track portals? Always reminded me of the time-travelling Train at the end of Back to the Future Part III...and now I'm going to sit in the corner and feel bad about myself.
