It would be really nice if they were to introduce Darksied in a Superman movie like they are doing in the DC 52 reboot. Not totally like the comic, but, something like Darksied looking to expand his power base and in turn one of his parademons comes across Earth and - Batman. Maybe have a couple of heroes captured and being tested on to test their mettle and showing Darksied what he is up against, yet, he still doesn't have a clue.

I just noticed the Infinty Gauntlet is damaged. It looks like somebody got smacked across the first three fingers with a stave of rattan wrapped in duct tape.
What I ended up liking most about the relic chamber were the designs carved into the walls--they looked to be based on subatomic particle track photographs, which was a nice tie-in to the whole Clarke's Third Law theme.
Well, whose to say that the Marvel Movieverse Dr. Strange and Odin are NOT bests of buds, and Odin gave the Orb to Strange as a sign of friendship? I mean, we never expected Movieverse Justin Hammer to be that young and dorky, but, well, there we have it, right?
I recognize the Gauntlet, but besides the "Warlock's Eye" what are the other things???
Eternal Flame (top, left) – Mystical flame that cannot be extinguished. It was stolen from Surtur by Odin, Vili, and Ve Borson at the dawn of time so that Surtur could not light his sword and bring about Ragnarok.Infinity Gauntlet (right) – The Infinity Gauntlet was designed to hold six of the ‘soul gems’, better known as the Infinity Gems. When used in combination their already impressive powers made the wearer nearly invincible.Warlock’s Eye (bottom, center) – A powerful, mystical weapon used unsuccessfully against Odin, Thor and the Warriors Three during an invasion of Asgard.Twilight Sword (not pictured) – Created by Surtur using the energy of the exploding home galaxy of the Korbinites, it was intended to set the universe afire. Later used as a power source by Loki & Morgan Le Fay.Rumored:Orb of Agamotto (top, left center) – A scrying crystal ball used by Doctor Strange for clairvoyance. It has been known to open gateways between dimensionsTablet of Life & Time (top, right center) – On the tablet was a biochemical formula for a serum, the so-called Lifeline Formula, which could rejuvinate, heal and grant its user the chance to reach the full evolutionary potential of its race turning the user into an immortal near omnipotent being.
Although the Orb Of Agamotto looks suspiciously like a White Lantern Power Battery :-)
Oh, and some people translated some of the runes on the Tablet Of Life & Time and they swear it says "Tuning Fork"
... they better replace that Destroyer before someone with reaaaally bad intentions breaks into that vault. Srsly, though, one of the future Marvel movies better involve someone breaking in there and take the gauntlet.
I can just see Tony Stark using the Infinity Gauntlet to, like, prop up a table or something.
Agent Coulson: "...Do you know what that thing is?"Stark: "Yeah. Holds up my table."
The only thing missing...I wish some underhanded impish stage hand had managed to put a Han Solo in carbonite innocuously against a wall. I'd have laughed my balls off.
Yes! Thank you for posting this! I've been trying to figure out what else was in the weapons vault as I missed it when I was watching the movie.
BIG JIM SLADE! Haha. I think I may watch it tonight too. Kentucky Fried Movie rocks.
Why the hell does Odin have the Eye of Amagato and the freakin' INFINITY GAUNTLET locked in Asgard's basement?! Better still, why the hell does he keep them locked up in the one room in where he KNOWS the Ice Giants can get into? Kind of asking for trouble...
It's not actually the Eye of Agamotto. There was some interview with Kevin Fiege about it where he said it's actually the "Warlock's Eye", which is apparently an artifact out of ye olde Journey Into Mystery, from a two part story called "The Warlock's Eye". But I honestly only know that because I saw it in there when I saw the movie, thought it was a Dr. Strange reference too, and went searching the internet to see if I was crazy.
They've been talking about getting into some of the Marvel cosmic next, and everyone's been assuming they mean Nova (which I'm all for), but what if they instead do someone like Adam Warlock? (who apparently has nothing to do with the Warlock's Eye) They could introduce Thanos as the villain there, and then have him turn up in Asgard an an Avengers sequel to steal the Infinity Gauntlet. It ties the two together, and could make for a truly bad-ass movie. Too bad the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man would be off limits...you'd think they could all work something out.
My biggest problem with the IG is that assembling it is kind of a BIG DEAL. We are talking about taking the gems owned by six of the oldest, most powerful beings in the universe (gems destined to return to their owner), and forging a glove capable of harnessing their enormous powers , granting their owner effective mastery over all reality. IT IS NOT SOMETHING THE ALLFATHER SHOULD HAVE STOWED AWAY IN THE BASEMENT.
Ahem. End rant. And yes, it is very cool to see it make a cameo.
Maybe that's not *the* Infinity Gauntlet, but a *prototype* Infinity Gauntlet...y'know, like in the Star Wars EU. (And it's not obvious from the photograph, but it's only about 1/6th scale, and would only fit on a Barbie, or a small gnome.)
;D
I agree! Part of what made the Gauntlet so badass was the effort to collect the gems. If this is going to be a plotline of an upcoming movie, it will be super generic. Bad Guy Stole A Powerful Weapon And Wants To Rule The Universe. Generic and formulaic. If we see the effort it takes to compile everything, it will create some more badass cred for Thanos (assuming it's Thanos).
But it is something Homer SImpson should have stored in his basement, next to the giant Tiki head.
Odin is wise enough not to use it and wise enough not to make it know to his enemies that he has it...
Well, Odin did keep the Frost Giants source of power just hanging out on a shelf, so he may have had the gauntlet sitting around as well.
Apparently, another neat Thor fact is that originally when Selvig is talking about his friend in the Gamma science biz, it was to be a Hank pym reference but it was cut out.
Because Odin knows Ice Giants are so stupid, they'll just ignore the much more powerful items and go straight for the Casket Of Ancient Winters. The best hiding place is in plain sight!!
You know I don't think the gauntlet was actually in the movie, I looked for it both times I saw it and it is not there.
Nice to see what the rest are, but I don't think that it is actually Dr. Strange's orb in there, the rest have some ties to Thor and Odin but that one.
Kevin Feige says it isn't Strange's Agamatto thing. But he copped to the Infinity Gauntlet.
Go a 3rd time, it flies by really fast in the pass of the treasure room. Now can anyone tell me if those Wasp sightings are real? They're saying she flies by Jane Foster in the beginning...............I think it's crap because there's no film credit for it.
"... I may die of joy the minute I hear about it." well then they'll be digging two graves because I would do the same.fuck yes to both thanos and infinity gauntlet.
My friend is convinced that it's going to be the Avengers against the Skrulls for the infinity gauntlet, despite Thor's stinger.
Thor's stinger is partly setup for Captain America... or at least we'll probably see how the Cosmic Cube ends up in Fury's hands. pretty sure that's what the Red Skull will be chasing after in the 40's this July
The only thing better than a Avengers Thanos/Infinity Gauntlet movie would be a Superman Darkseid/Anti-Life Formula movie. I mean, I don't even like Superman, but Darkseid's one of those villains I'd love to see brought to the big screen.
That would require a director/writer for superman who actually wanted to try to make an interesting movie rather then just stick to the same old Superman story.
I would be amazed if we would get Braniac or at least a Bizarro, but no we get Lex Luthor or Zod every time.
