I feel old. Everyone is complaining about character selection, the weirdness of a Kermit/Piggy thing in the Luke/Leia roles, but no one seems to recall that this was all done on The Muppet Show in 1980. It was before the character histories were developed further, and so Luke very well could have been with Leia. I've wanted a Gonzo-as-Vader figure ever since he played the role on the Muppet Show episode where Mark Hamill, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Luke Skywalker (Mark's cousin!) guest-starred.
So in the Disney Star Wars universe, in the past everyone's a cartoon, but in the future everyone's a puppet?

Apparently this is inspired by the Muppet Babies cartoon, which had an episode where they reenacted Star Wars. Though I don't think Link Hogthrob was Han Solo. They didn't do Empire.

Fail! Scooter should be Darth Vader ala Dark Helmet Rick Moranis. Rizzo the Rat should be Boba Fett. Kermit should be Han (even though Ham Solo jokes never get old), and Gonzo should be Luke.
If they had Scrooge McDuck as Emperor Palpatine with those Disney figures, then I would get them.
It looks like the Disney one has Stitch as either Grievous or Yoda or something. That right there is awesome - I love Stitch. He's such a silly dog!
I have the original set. Pretty sure it was only like $30 for all of the figures. Not going to go out of my way (or to Disneyland) for articulation. I thought it was a pretty fun little set originally. This is just blatant pandering.
Rad. I have the previous set on top of my computer at work, and while they are totally not articulated, they still look pretty cool. I like the look of these a little less (and there's no Rizzo as Yoda this time), but having moving parts and more characters overall are good things.

I think Scooter should have been Luke. He's about as interesting as Luke... which isn't saying much.
And where's Animal as Boba Fett? The coolest Muppet should be the coolest character from STAR WARS.
I was thinking the same thing Scooter would have made a better Luke. And like the person said above Bunsen and Beaker should be switched, Kermit should be Han, Animal would make a better Chewbacca while Fozzy should have been Lando, and Pepe the Prawn would have been a good Fett or maybe Ratso
Ah, good. I'm not the only one freakishly disturbed by the fact that Kermit is Luke, not Han.
After all, it would be a very muppetish thing to make Luke the human actor and Han a very nice Kermit the Frog. See "Muppet Treasure Island" - where Sam the Eagle builds up the captain as a cruel, horrible man, and then we see it's Kermit.
All these do is make me nostalgic for the Palisades Muppets figures. Especially looking at the slightly-off-model Kermit and Gonzo above.

You know, I seem to remember that Palisades tried REALLY hard to at least do a "Dearth Nadir" figure, but couldn't get clearances from Lucas...and now I'm sad again because Palisades could have done true justice to these things.

They made the same mistake with the regular Disney characters for that line up because they have Mickey as Luk and Minnie as Leia. Granted not as werid as this one but still, it' werid
