Bah its been taken down before I could see it, and I'd been so looking forwards to this. T-T

Apparently Otaking moved since Youtube is copyright's bitch.
My husband and I wanted to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the moon shot last summer. We had tons of dvds with movies, real footage, etc. We wanted a nice drinkie to enjoy while we viewed our shows. But what could we have that 1) was space/moon themed and 2) could be made out of the booze and mixers in our house? We aren't heavy drinkers, and tend to not have soda in the house, so we thought were rather limited.... Until....
We got the tequila that had been sitting waiting for its chance to become some yummy drink. OK, now - the mixer... All we could find was - Tang!
Tequila and Tang. It was VERY yummy. And we call it - a Lunar Sunrise!
You can either MAKE the Tang as strong as you want (hubby likes his about as thick as No J aka Sunny D, I tend to go a bit thinner). Then add tequila to taste.
We do NOT recommend using ALL tequila, although it might be tempting after a FFF....
With something as spectacular as this, he could easily walk into any animation studio and land an immediate job. Most "Personal projects" like this rarely rise above the high school play level: I am a sci fi fan, and I have passed on Star Wars, the clone wars but I'd eagerly watch this even if it aired at three in the morning on wednesdays!
I am a fan of Dr Who and loved John Pertwee's Doc so this was amazing. EPIC WIn and glad that I got to see it.
awesome work, wish it was more than just a fan trailer. Though it is pretty funny how the Doctor seems to arrive in Japan just in time for the (apparent) annual "Villain Convention". Daleks, Davros, Cybermen, two Masters, Sutekh, and even Sontarans for a brief cameo.
I guess Omega didn't get the invite. :P
So much Awesomeness. Watching the trailers was the final push I needed to start watching Doctor Who and become the fan I am today. Plus when i heard the Supreme Dalek said "I Still Function" i instantly thought of Megatron saying the same thing once.
reminds me of the time a captain harlock homage appeared in megas xlr. shit done blew my mind.
Very cool video, I really like the two Masters working with each other. Kind of like the Doctor does from time to time in episodes like the Five Doctors.
Jon Pertwee was always the Doctors Doctor. He could pull off the man of action and still look good in velvet and frills. And be a gentlmen to boot. I did have high hopes for the "Next Doctor" but never came to fruition. And when I saw Sutekh the Destroyer, theres a villian we need to see again, or even O'mega. But it was great fun and much better then anything I could have done.
I dunno, the Cybermen looked very super-sentaiesque, but the Daleks were kinda vanilla. That scene with the Cyberplane was awesome, tho.
For one guy to pull this off is impressive. Some of the animation is pretty bad, but shit - he really put a lot of polish into it, and tried some -ambitious- shots. Well fucking DONE!
The best moment for me was the arrival of the older Master. That was hilarious, for some reason.
Some of the motion was indeed pretty choppy, but you can tell he based a great deal of it, like the Dalek-victim falls, on live footage, and the American Army scene cribbed right from some MoH game, complete with first person reload.
I have to agree. It'd be really easy to nitpick some pretty glaring issues with this, but for one guy to have done all that, it's really amazing.
Hey check it out! Macross style Itano Circus at 3:45! Great video. I sort of fangirl squeed when I saw Sutekh the Destroyer, very odd reaction for me. This was time well spent, this fella really nailed the 80's OVS style animation and design aesthetic. It looks utterly authentic, which is probably the best compliment I could give.
That's ok. Some people are just born with mental deficiencies. It's not entirely your fault. I'm sure environment and hereditary issues can be blamed for your ignorance just as equally as your own personal ineptitude, if not more. But it's brave of you to admit your own problem, and I can admire that from you, at the very least. :)
And people like you are the reason some are turned away from anime.
I'm not really into anime myself, and personally I don't think this style works, but it's a great effort.
Yeah... Around here, we call that "taste", but I guess over there on Bizarro World, you can call it a "mental deficiency" if you want to.
It's funny who the Doctor's greatest enemy turns into the a Japanese woman's greatest enemy a tentacle monster.
amazed with the potential of this idea. It certainly solves the wobbly set issues of the early series, and allows for near-infinite story possibilities. [clapping]
That is an impressive piece of work. To think that one person did that art and animation just melts the mind. I hate to do it but I have to....
"Impressive. Most impressive."
Fuuu This is awesome.
And I've never even watched any Doctor Who. I really ought to...
Seemed to me like a fusion of Venusian Karate and Hokuto Shinken. Appropiate for a Doctor Who anime really.
