wow, I've learned one thing from this list and even more so the comments, there are a LOT of bars in the comics.
also I've never read sin city or saw the movie, so my opinion might not mean much. But it seems odd to me that with all these bars where well known classic and newish superheroes and supervillains frequent, number one is a bar in a noir crime drama comic. apologies if I misunderstood the genre there.
Well, in the comics you get to see nudity in the bar so in this case, the comic wins all over the movie.

Agreed, the lack of Hellhouse in this list is disturbing.Granted, just by walking through the door you're liable to get shot to ribbons, or impaled, or whatever else Deadpool or T-Ray can come up with. But it's still a great bar.

I know it isn't actually in any comic book, but Stan's Place from the Marvel/DC YouTube series has been the setting for so many awesome moments. Hulk is the bouncer, for crying out loud (although granted, he spends a lot of his time watching his stories).

I refer to that tavern that was the focus of one of the volumes of "The Sandman" - the one that's in between dimensions and realities and gets visitors from various realms. Mind, it was less the bar that was attractive as it was the stories and tales that the setting allowed to be told.
That concept for a bar has been used in a few other franchises. Mundens for one.(the first maybe) Callahans cross time saloon of course. Star trek had "the Captains table".
a cool bar from Novels would be The Crystal palace from the Wild Cards books. Actually, The WC series had 3 or 4 cool bars. Club Dead Nicholas, Freakers and Jokers Wild, where you never come out in the same shape you came in...If you come out at all.

So long Live Beau Smith's Guy Gardner Warrior, It was one great ride of a book & gave me the definitive version of Guy!
I'd love to see Guy return as Warrior. Or have the Guy Gardner of Earth 8 turn out to still be Warrior. I'd love to see ol' Beau Smith take another crack at writing Guy, as Warrior or as a GL. And I especially miss Buck Wargo and the Monster Hunters.
