I am excited for the second season. The first one kept me on edge and I am hopeful that the second will deliver more of the same. I still have to get my hands on the trade paperbacks of the comics.
More links from around the web!
Darabont created "T-Dogg" and approved dogshit episodes like "Vatos" and that dunce-cappery in the lab that ended the season. Good fucking riddance. Maybe now there will be some real characters instead of tropes and stereotypes that run from zombies and occasionally get bitten or blown up.
The second season was already made WITH Darabont before he was fired. So how would it suck now?
Oh man I hope so. This show could actually be great if it stuck to the comic more.
Hah, I don't think people are going to be happy until Rick is flipping over cars firing off rocket launchers. Fuck that, I'll be watching this award winning hit show based on the award winning hit comic book with pride. Fuck all the naysayers who think it's cool to bash it. Trust me, the fan base doesn't need you.
Weeeell if I count as a naysayer I'd like to put forward my argument, if that's okay. When it was first announced, I was really excited for this show. A TV show seemed like a great new way to tell zombie stories, after countless movies and video games that weren't really bringing anything new to the genre. I expected a slow-paced drama about people changing and adapting to a world filled with zombies. I expected character development and looong story arcs, the kind you can only achieve with TV shows and comic books. But instead we got a bunch of stock characters nobody cared about, silly one-episode storylines like that old folk's home thing, other storylines that tried to be arcs but went nowhere (like the racist guy's escape), sub-par acting and writing, and really nothing exciting or new that used the medium of television to bring new life to the zombie genre. Go ahead and enjoy it if you want, but please understand that some of us haters aren't just critisising the show because we're assholes. We have feelings too ya know
Everything looks better on trailers, Rob. Even "Resident Evil: Afterlife".
Still on the fence on this whole deal. I'll believe it's not shit when I see it for myself after it finally airs over here, thank you very much.
When you start to think it's safe and let your guard down... That's when they get ya.
Yeah, I can't wait to get check back with... cop... and... black guy... and.... old man with hat... and.... there's a little kid too, I think.... while they have thrilling more adventures, like... that time they helped some Latin American men run an old folk's home.... and... when the zombies ate the horse. Right? I don't want to come off as a troll, but The Walking Dead is nothing special. Maybe a longer season will give it more time to develop characters, but the stories are so shitty it may not even matter. Anyway, back to the bridge. Those fucking goats are back again I swear to God they make me so FUCKING ANGRY GRRR
That's because they somehow decided to pee on the comic book and stall for a whole season with characters they just invented.
