For some reason, it appears that daytime talk show Ellen will be premiering the first footage of Tim Burton's Tim Burton-y new movie Dark Shadows. This means they had a promo for the episode with said footage, making out first look run a little less than two full seconds. Based on those two seconds, I must say the film doesn't look particularly interesting, although I'm not sure how interested anyone is in a Tim Burton remake anymore. In fact, I don't know why I posted this at all. My apologies for wasting your time. (Via Blastr)

Would less people complain about him making Tim Burton-y films if they weren't remakes and the like?
I'd rather see him do some more original ideas like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, another literary adaptation like Big Fish, or even another biopic like Ed Wood! I just want him to stop regurgitating old franchises people are familiar with, that's turning Burton into a parody of himself and ruining creativity in modern filmmaking in general.
How awesome would it be if Drew Brees starred in the Dark Shadows remake??!!
I keep holding out hope that the next film he makes will be great, and then I'm always disappointed. I'd say it doesn't look terrible, but that was a useless few seconds.
His "remake" of his Frankenweenie short looks just ok. Having loved the original upon its first release, I'm looking forward to it, it's just more of the same though.
Thank you for the apology. I often wonder if we all ignored the current incarnation of Tim Burton if he would go away for a few years and come back with an original idea.
Maybe if he stopped casting his two wives in everything he made and got rid of the same color palate he could make a start?
you get a like my friend, and if i could give you a million for the two wives comment i would.
you can pretty much take any promo or trailer for any film he's done in the last ten years and substitute it for this. you wouldn't notice the difference.... tim burton exists in a hell of his own design, one in which he is forced to remake the same exact film again and again. kind of like groundhog day but on a cosmic scale. makes me wonder if he sold his soul to cthutlu in order to make Batman and this is the punishment
The Great Cthulhu says "mmmm souls nomnomnomnom"Aside.Isn't this a remake of a remake of Dark Shadows - I saw parts of the other two, they were a boring awful vampire soap opera so I stopped.
