It’s All Good News About Assassin’s Creed 3 (But No Gameplay Footage, Sadly)

I don’t often post interview with videogame people — I’m of the mind that generally all people really want to see of games are cinematics and gameplay footage — but this GameTrailers interview with Assassin’s Creed 3 creative director Alex Hutchinson has enough good info that it seemed worthwhile. In it, he confirms that Connor will be playing (i.e., assassinating) both sides of the Colonists-British divide, as well as fighting the French, which of course everyone is fine with. He describes how they’re trying to make it markedly different from the Assassin’s Creed 2 trilogy, especially in terms of the sidequests and minigames, which is much appreciated. And he also explains why there’s not going to be scalping in the game, which is one of the few times I’ve seen a videogame maker show constraint, which I think is marvelous. For the more visually oriented among you, this video does have some concept art that I haven’t seen before, so if the talky-talky isn’t for you, the looky-looky should hopefully be worth your while.
