There's a new clip for Funimation's CG Dragon Age anime movie Dawn of the Seeker, and unlike previous clips and trailers, I think I could actually have watched this and guessed it was about Dragon Age, even without the audio track. I think it's the ogre horns; DA's dragons are pretty generic, but its ogres have a very distinct horn pattern that are pretty recognizable to anyone who's played the game (even just the first game, like myself). Now, whether the anime will have more association with Dragon Age than just ogre horns remains to be seen, but I am feeling slightly more optimistic now. (Via Anime News Network)

I'm feeling optimistic, if I do say so myself.
My only issue is the CGI. It's not bad, but it's not stupendous, and you can do things far more beautifully with traditionally hand-crafted animation; it could also show the sheer brutality of the DA universe.
Possibly with less rape. I suppose hoping for less rape in the DA and Berserk universe is trying to pick out the red M&Ms in a package of M&Ms because they remind you of that one, very awkward time when you tasted period blood.
I suppose the only way to tell that, though, is if the Orlesians feature prominently, especially the Chevaliers.
The main character, Cassandra, is from Dragon Age 2. She has a pretty major role in the game while not actually being in a lot of it. I feel like she'll probably be a pretty major character in DA3. Especially since this movie is pretty much an origin story her.
I can't recall much of DA2 plot, city street something something same street something then a trip to the seaside.
At this point I fell into a coma only to wake up in 1973.
A new dragon age game? Cool! It looks a bit crappy but most wii games look like this in gameplay, any idea when well see some pre-rendered cutscenes or something?
The ogres' horns may still be distinct, but they now have these ridiculous looking squished faces thanks to Dragon Age 2. Honestly, I felt awful every time I killed an ogre in that game because I thought they were "special."
If they want to make the movie true to Dragon Age they need to show the hero doing lots of FedEx quests
Was that the Ogre in the little "matinee" picture, or the fellow that the woman was preparing to stab in slow-motion? If it was the former, then it looks like Ifrit from any given Final Fantasy, if he let his eczema condition go untreated for a few years. That said, I'm afraid it does look fairly generic and, honestly, makes me think that this hybridization of anime styling and 3D animation is still a bit hit and miss, because a part of the generic quality is rooted in how smooth, plain, and similar the human characters look.
