Disney Is (Probably) Making a(n Animated) Marvel Movie (in 2014 or So)

From a post on Disney’s Blue Sky blog:

“That project, once announced will generate a lot of
buzz in certain geek communities, as it’s going to surprise a lot of
people for what it is and what it’s not. But it’s in the very early
embryonic stage and it depends on how well the project is received upon
the presentation that is being prepared for John [Lasster] and Ed
[Catmull].

The projects competing for 2014/2015 are the uber-secret film from Don Hall, which will be a marvelously unexpected project if it ever gets the green light, and Nathan Greno and Byron Howard’s films which are deep in development.”

Don Hill is the guy who directed that last animated Winnie the Pooh movie, which actually got pretty decent reviews. I suppose this doesn’t mean for certain that it’s going to be an animated feature, but that’s where I’d place my bet. So assuming that Disney doesn’t want to fuck with its current franchises of Avengers, Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man, and can’t do anything with Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men or Ghost Rider (neither of which is necessarily true), what do you think? What do you want? I wouldn’t mind Runaways, myself, but somehow I doubt Disney starts out with that. (Via Nerd Bastards)
