I was all set to show this behind-the-scenes look at the season 3 premiere of The Walking Dead mostly because it showed some interiors of the prison (no Michonne or the Governor, though) and given how much the show picked up in the last half of season 2, I’m really looking forward to season 3. But then Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, started talking about how season 3 will be “darker, harder, faster, deeper,” and now I’m… perplexed. “Season 3 doesn’t cuddle,” I imagine Lincoln continuing. “It doesn’t make love to us, it just fucks us. It’s a fully erect, engorged season. You look at it and you don’t know how the season will possibly fit inside you, but it does. And when the season leaves, you feel so empty — until the season comes all over your back. Am I being clear here?” (Via Nerd Bastards)

He brought the site to prominence with “nerd news, humor and self-loathing” as its motto, raising it from total internet obscurity to a readership in the millions, with help from his savage “FAQ” movie reviews and Fan Fiction Fridays. Under his tenure Topless Robot was covered by Gawker, Wired, Defamer, New York magazine, ABC News, and others, and his articles have been praised by Roger Ebert, Avengers actor Clark Gregg, comedian and The Daily Show correspondent John Hodgman, the stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax, and others. He is currently the managing editor of io9.com. Despite decades as both an amateur and professional nerd, he continues to be completely unprepared for either the zombie apocalypse or the robot uprising.
