As if the productivity-killing playable version of Fix-It Felix, Jr. wasn't fun enough, Disney's viral campaign for Wreck-It Ralph now brings us this commercial promoting Litwak's Arcade, the enviornment where the film's action takes place. Supposedly from 1982, this is a pitch-perfect recreation of old TV spots promoting games. (It's nearly as great as this creepy Burgertime ad). The spot is just another example of how this movie clearly has an affinity for the golden age of arcades. It's 34 seconds of blissful time travel.
Ah, 1982. A great year. Galaga was my game. Then I got a girlfriend, and spent my quarters on her. She broke my heart later, and I never really got back into the arcade groove. But 1982 was still a great year.
I had a witty remark but struggling with My Voice Nation to get it to see that I've already registered to post and am in fact currently logged in, then waiting for it to load the comments section - which took about five minutes altogether - made me forget what I was going to say.
